Tell Me The Story Of Jesus...

Devotional: Upon every reflection of the “points of interest” in this life, additional details are added and grayish facts are spotted with calor over time and with Memory’s lapsing. It stands then to accurately reason that no matter how accurate we remember our past, others there at the time…repeat the story a different way. Perception reigns…as such. Flawed vessels are we then with missing pieces which permit our story to change. YET such allows Pride to press on…undiminished…as though we’ve never missed a point, misstated a fact…or lost a step. Countless ‘round us know different but acting with love, so they conceal our unconscious embellisments…and sometimes our conscious misleadings as well. Thus it is glorious to know that one can retell the account of Calvary and how our SAVIOUR bled and died for sinful man…so that eternal life belongs to those who believe! The beloved hymn “Tell Me The Story Of Jesus” is listed below. Remember always, dear friends, that HIS is the only story worth repeating often and passionately…without fear of the words growing cold! Amen and amen.

HIS Story

Embellished, heart felt stories
yet remain in the aftermath of being shared…
as hollow in the mind of the speaker
despite their flair for the dramatic.
Even tale of the heroic
still dull over the endless years of “re-telling”
where well entwined within each detailed truth…
lies words twisted by Fabrication.
Hence, ere ceasing from it all…
where such accounts would ne’er again be recited,
so this core of self decided rather…
to only often speak…of Calvary!

As HIS servant in your service,
W.V.W. Jasnoch (11/26/07)

Tell Me The Story Of Jesus

1 Timothy 2:6 “who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time,”

Words: Fan¬ny Cros¬by, in The Quiv¬er of Sac¬red Song, by Will¬iam Kirk¬pat¬rick and John Swe¬ney (Phil¬a¬del¬phia, Penn¬syl¬van¬ia: John J. Hood, 1880). Music: John R. Swe¬ney.

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.
Tell how the angels in chorus,
Sang as they welcomed His birth.
“Glory to God in the highest!
Peace and good tidings to earth.”

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Fasting alone in the desert,
Tell of the days that are past.
How for our sins He was tempted,
Yet was triumphant at last.
Tell of the years of His labor,
Tell of the sorrow He bore.
He was despised and afflicted,
Homeless, rejected and poor.

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.

Tell of the cross where they nailed Him,
Writhing in anguish and pain.
Tell of the grave where they laid Him,
Tell how He liveth again.
Love in that story so tender,
Clearer than ever I see.
Stay, let me weep while you whisper,
Love paid the ransom for me.

Tell me the story of Jesus,
Write on my heart every word.
Tell me the story most precious,
Sweetest that ever was heard.
