 Should Christians Borrow Money?

Deut 28:12 The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to
give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work
of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou
shalt not borrow.

 Re: Should Christians Borrow Money?

Dave Ramsey would say no.

That Scripture you gave makes me wonder about lending money too....

 Re:

we should be very careful about lending money. if the need is that great we should give it and not allow it to be repaid... even tax collecters lend money if they will be repaid.

Look at the last four word: "...and thou SHALT NOT BORROW"

Isn't this given in the same sense as: " Thou shalt not kill"?

In the NT Jesus referenced sin/debt alike? " Forive us our DEBTS, as we forgive our debtors"

 Re:

A good man sheweth favour, and lendeth: he will guide his affairs with discretion. Psalm 112:5

I'll have to look into this more, but I read this just yesterday with my children, and discussed lending to others. I took this at face value and thought it meant that we should be willing to lend to others. In the spirit of the rest of Psalm 112; lending would be a virtuous thing to do.

(please correct me if I am wrong in this)
