Verbally Bound: Devotional and poem concerning "Godly" anger

Devotional: When a professed member of the Body shares frequent disrespect, there are two major points to consider. One, the other members are too focused on fault and have an unrealistic of measurable Respect. The other point is that Pride, in the heart of the one causing the offense, is so great…that they cannot perceive wrong in themselves. Righteous wrath was what CHRIST had in HIS temple when the market people had turned it into a place which caused HIM to stand up with zeal….against them. When such a confrontation is next witnessed in your own life, then do not quickly claim “righteous wrath” nor let your zeal be dampened because the other just carelessly plows forward. It is easy to be bound in the verbal chains of legalism as well as those bonds whose coupling with Action proves that they’re injuring others…nor healing nor rescued them. May we carefully look inwardly this hour and with blunt and perhaps brutal honesty say, “LORD, reward me for my heart’s intent and correct me, please….with compassion. Amen and amen.

Verbally Bound

It is one matter to rage without conscious
and another – far different – defending…
the need for respect in the Light of the Cross
where HE gave HIS life’s crimson….ne’er ending.
For if one will not forfeit their pride in this life
to submit to those souls who are leaders,
then how can one serve CHRIST…the KING of all KINGS
when their speech mimics most – errant speakers.

Yes, at what point did CHRIST – in great anger –
preach the truth to those gathered for business
in the midst of HIS temple as though none should mind
that their sales of such worship were endless.
Though one thinks that they show HIM…surrender,
yet Perception corrects this erred thought…
for the Body surrounding this self centered servant
is grieved since their words – well respectful – are not.

May one with authority then stand – unchallenged –
confronting this “other” who chooses to wound…
with their pride sharpened tongue as it cuts without care.
Yes, at that very point…may their gains become ruined.
Hence, this scribe also takes notes…intrinisic,
for such knowledge is needed by all who relate.
Thus, the mirror requires this “point” to look inward
else, one will – to Anger – become….just a slave.

As HIS servant in your service,
W.V.W. Jasnoch
