Blessing or Woeby Alan MartinBlessed are the poor in Spirit - those who are craving for more of God's Spirit, calling with urgency to be filled again today Blessed are those who are mourning over those areas in their lives that are not yet conformed to the image of Christ - they will receive the comfort from the Comforter who will continue to work in them to will and to do this good pleasure of the Father. Blessed are those who come hungering and thirsting after righteousness, rather than complacent and satisfied with less than the full knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who hunger and thirst will be filled, while those dull and filled with their own lusts will receive leanness of soul like Israel before. Blessed are the pure in heart who long to see God, they will see Him because "to the pure He shows Himself pure." Many are being blessed because they are poor in spirit, mourning over sin, hungering and thirsting after righteousness and having a pure desire to experience the living God, not just a vain tradition. But to some WOE! WOE to those who are satisfied and complacent with having less than Christ's fullness. WOE to those who have ceased to crave and cry aloud for more of Christ, more of His Spirit and More of His likeness. WOE to those more concerned about their own comfort than the glory of the name of Christ in the earth and especially in His church. Woe to those gripped in the mire of complacency and apathy regarding the state of other saints and the church where they live. Blessing or Woe - How can we know? How much of His glory and likeness we show!
