 pleasing to God

“Since we believe that Christ died for everyone, we also believe that we have all died to the old life we used to live. He died for everyone so that those who receive his new life will no longer live to please themselves. Instead, they will live to please Christ, who died and was raised for them.” 2 Corinthians 5:14-15.

Paul says as Christian our is aim is to be pleasing to God.

How can we be pleasing to God?

I invite everyone to share their thoughts.

God bless

 Re: pleasing to God

Welcome to the site!

Colossians 1v10, 'That you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God'.

Again, in Romans 8v8 it says, 'So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God'.

If we know that being in the flesh is displeasing to God, then we are not to be in the flesh and to be in the Spirit.

That's it. Others will give their input.

God bless.

.
I think there are many things but my personal opinion is that I think he wants an intimate relatinship with me and you.

The only time someone can speak into my life is when that person and I are close, then I listen. I really don't think that he cares if that we are not perfect because if we are walking with him, only then can he begin the process of speaking into our life and perfecting us thereby pleasing him.

Maybe I'm wrong but I believe he longs for when we choose to be with him, walking in the garden (our life) in the cool of the day with him.

 Re: pleasing to God

There is only one thing that pleases God, the Life of His dear Son. This is the fruit He desires. This is why we were created in the first place. By abiding in Him and He in us we bring forth much fruit.

It's not about doing good, it's about Christ within.

Yours in our Lord Jesus Christ,

Ron

 Re:

thanks for the input brothers and sisters.. i really wanted to hear someone's insight on this because this is my current meditations, how to be pleasing to God.

i just want to share some of the insights God has given me..

first, be pleasing to Him is not directly related to His love. His love for us His children is perfect and eternal. for us humans we tend to love only those we like or those who are pleasing to us. but it is not with God. if you are a children of God you will no longer try to please Him to gain favor from Him or for Him to love you, you will please Him beacuse of your love for him inspired by His great love for us..

second, i believe for most Christian they are pleasing to God to the extent that they are obedient to to His every comamand. that's true, but you can still be unpleasing to Him if you are doing all of it trusting on your strengh and wisdom. i believe it is not just obedience but obedient trust. depending on God on everything. He is not please on the works of the flesh. he is please with us if we continualy trust and confidently depend on Him in everything we do.

we see the example of our Lord Jesus while He was here on earth. He lived a life of complete and perfect obedience to the Father and He do it in total dependence on the Father. there is a verse in the somewhere in John saying that Jesus did not do anything with consulting the Father and our Lord himself says: "The Son cannot do anything by himself". when he became human he cannot do anything by himself so he needed to depend on the Father in everything. and this is the way Jesus want us to live. our God came down and shows us how we should live not just by teaching us but by being an example that we should folow..
