The most vile and abominable thing that goes on in America is not exactly the immorality or abortions, but the prosperity gospel. It is the most destructive and successful tool to send the professing christians to hell and make the world harden and mock against the true Gospel of Christ. It turns God into a tool to get gifts and puts the joy in gifts not the all satisfying Savior. Anyone who is part of the health, wealth, prosperity, word-faith gospel should repent and beg for God's mercy to open their eyes. May we pray for false teachers like Joel Osteen, TD Jakes, Paula White, Joyce Meyer, Oral Roberts and many others. I love all brothers in Christ but I'm so frustarted and ashamed of what America calls Christianity.
I think I know what you mean except you gotta be carefull not to send the message that God does not want us to prosper. Prosperity comes from God Ifound 49 scriptures in the concordence on "prosper" none of which were connected to the devil. According to my little search God and prosperity go hand in hand......David
Brother why do you use such "manipulative" names for your threads? you name your threads in a way that makes me think you want to cause a stir and , I agree on that the prosperity gospel is not a gospel, but all the threads you have started have a spirit of divisiveness and of bashing others, you can talk about all these things in a right way and a wrong way. I dont think you will find many people who are into the prosperity gospel here, and if you do a search on this site you can find many of this subjects have been discussed in great length before and you might even learn a thing or two. Is it meant by prosperity gospel the idea of give ten get back 100 deal?If that is a basic definition I agree, but otherwise much of Solomons words would need to be removed from the Scripture. Some of the greatest admonitions on financial blessings can be found in the Proverbs. And might I add, directly ties into whatever your hand finds to do, do it as unto the Lord. Working hard at the calling and vision God has given you, a quality education in your chosen field etc... figures far more prominently than the give to get thing you see on tv.Am I off on this?
