Re: Never enough

Remember Jesus Christ by John Rhys Watkins

Description: John Rhys Watkins keys off the last words of Evan Roberts: "Remember Jesus Christ." This is the key to revival, not trying to maintain the presence of God through a distant memory.

Thank you brother. The title alone grabbed the attention, the description enforced it, "Remember Jesus Christ" and if anything might this be the first word as well as the last.

Glorytoglory, thank you for sharing this about Azusa. As I read it, it is like a laser beam. Tremendous.

Indeed ...

The question isn't can God bring revival but can man get out of the way?

Truth.

I've heard plenty of sermons. I believe this websight says that there are over 14,000 sermons so far. Hasn't man said enough???

Understanding that, yet, since the Lord has chosen not to leave us any audible recordings Himself ... ;-)

Coinciding with the original title of this post, "Preparing" and recognizing that, praying rather, that these men will speak what the Lord puts on their hearts ... Perhaps what I am struggling to say is ... whether in speech or in silence the Lord have sway.

Paradoxically, wanted to acknowledge the aforementioned link as but one and noticed the featured sermon Greg put up, "The Price of Revival" by Leonard Ravenhill as another, for traveling (travailing?) purposes, to stir us, 'prepare' those of us going to the conference.

Looking for others to draw nourishment and contemplation from ...

Another recommendation;

Amen brother don't misunderstand me, I praise God for all 14,000+!

As far as the Lord not leaving any audible recordings of Himself I'm sure He would be glad to speak live! :)

 Re: Preparing for Revival Conferance

You all know this chapter, but i "feel" I wanted to share it here, some good things to come to God in prayer about.

Isa 58:1 Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and shew my people their transgression, and the house of Jacob their sins.
Isa 58:2 Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways, as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God: they ask of me the ordinances of justice; they take delight in approaching to God.
Isa 58:3 Wherefore have we fasted, say they, and thou seest not? wherefore have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find pleasure, and exact all your labours.
Isa 58:4 Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.
Isa 58:5 Is it such a fast that I have chosen? a day for a man to afflict his soul? is it to bow down his head as a bulrush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to the LORD?
Isa 58:6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
Isa 58:7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
Isa 58:8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy rereward.
Isa 58:9 Then shalt thou call, and the LORD shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
Isa 58:10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noonday:
Isa 58:11 And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
Isa 58:12 And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places: thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
Isa 58:13 If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking thine own words:
Isa 58:14 Then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

Just take the time to listen to the first ten minutes on broken people and proud people. That list...oh! reveals pride in my life every time I hear it! Oh the need that is me for a deeper working of God.

I've just started to listening to this sermon, but like I said, just take ten minutes to hear that list...ten minutes.

AMEN! I also have been convicted every time I have heard it! it has been on my "to transcribe and translate list" for some time, and I agree with Roniya you should take the time to listen to this....

 Re: Preparing for Revival Conferance

Thank you saints ... looking forward to these.

It dawned on me, reflecting back now after all these years to some first inceptions;

The last one especially ...

 Re: Preparing for Revival Conferance

Just posted a hymn - The Church's one foundation is Jesus Christ her Lord - in the 'Reminder' thread. http://www.hymnsite.com/lyrics/umh545.sht

Many similar sentiments in these words also....

'...With the cross of Jesus, going on before.'

Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.
Christ, the royal Master, leads against the foe;
Forward into battle see His banners go!

Refrain
Onward, Christian soldiers, marching as to war,
With the cross of Jesus going on before.

At the sign of triumph Satan’s host doth flee;
On then, Christian soldiers, on to victory!
Hell’s foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
Brothers lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.

Refrain

Like a mighty army moves the church of God;
Brothers, we are treading where the saints have trod.
We are not divided, all one body we,
One in hope and doctrine, one in charity.

Refrain

Crowns and thrones may perish, kingdoms rise and wane,
But the church of Jesus constant will remain.
Gates of hell can never gainst that church prevail;
We have Christ’s own promise, and that cannot fail.

Refrain

Onward then, ye people, join our happy throng,
Blend with ours your voices in the triumph song.
Glory, laud and honor unto Christ the King,
This through countless ages men and angels sing.

Refrain
