I'm still pretty new here at this forum so I hope I am not seen as stepping out too far or trying to be overly bold or whatever. But I think that the office of a prophet versus being used in the gift of prophecy and therefore being called a prophet as if one holds the office is a subject that needs another look these days for the purpose of clarifying the difference between the two. In my opinion, it's an unfortunate and unbiblical blurring of the lines that has occured between the two in a lot of the charismatic stream. The book, "Why I Left the Prophetic Movement", that has been recommended here got me thinking of this subject when I saw that its author asks, "What is a true prophet of God supposed to be like?" Art Katz, the author of the article in my link, tackles the subject as only he could.http://www.benisrael.org/writings/online_books/spirit_of_prophecy/sop_s02.htmlAny thoughts?
