  Butt Prints in the Sand

I hope no one is offended by this title but it is refreshly true after years of reading "Footprints in the sand".

----------------
One night I had a wondrous dream. One set of footprints there was seen, the footprints of my precious Lord.

But mine were not along the shore.

But then some stranger prints appeared, And I asked the Lord," What have we here?" Those prints are large and round and neat. "But Lord, they are too big for feet."

"My child," He said in somber tones, "For miles I carried you alone. I challenged you to walk in faith, but you refused and made me wait."

"You disobeyed, you would not grow, the walk of faith, you would not know. So I got tired, I got fed up, and there I dropped you on your butt."

"Because in life, there comes a time, when one must fight, and one must climb. When one must rise and take a stand,

Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

Author Unknown

Many times in my life I've left those large, round and neat prints in the sand, when I refused to use the faith God gave me. I foolishly expected God to make it all easy for me. It is better for us to learn to walk, to run, to jump and to climb using our own legs but with the help of the grace of God. We can't take advantage of His grace- if we never try.

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6

LOL!!! ... Sis Chanin this is pretty funny ...

I wonder if there's anything written about "tantrum" prints in the sand ... God knows I've thrown a few of those along the way.

Thanks for putting up with me Lord Jesus ... Amen

:-D Humoristic and serious at the same time, in a good way. I like that. I must admit that I've grown a bit tired of "Footprints in the sand" and the like. This one was good, though.

 Re: prints in the sand

Yeah, I liked this right away when I saw it. I am tired of everyone thinking that God will just pamper us all the way to heaven. How in the world would we grow and mature if He just carried us every where? :-)

Aren't we supposed to be running this race- going for the prize, climbing that mountain to high places? :-)

 Re:

Thought this looked familiar, had a copy of this buried in my computer, a few more lines in this one:

One night I had a wondrous dream,
A set of prints on the sand was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
Yet mine were not along the shore.
But then a stranger print appeared,
I asked the Lord, "What have we here?"
This print is large and round and neat,
But Lord it's just too big for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to seek My face,
Take up your cross and walk in grace."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow.
You would not stand against the flow.
Your neck was stiff, your ears were shut,
So there I dropped you on your butt,"
"Because in life there comes a time,
When one must fight, when one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave one's butt-print in the sand."

A classic...
