He that walketh in hisuprightness feareth the Lord:but he that is perverse in hisways despiseth him.Prov. 14:2Here are grace and sin in theirtrue colours. Grace reigning is areverence of God, and gives honourto Him who is infinitely great andhigh and to whom all honour is due.Sin reigning is no less than acontempt of God. In this, more thanin any thing, sin appearsexceedingly sinful, that it despisesGod, whom angels adore. Thosethat despise Gods precepts andwill not be ruled by them, Hispromises and will not accept ofthem, despise God Himself and allHis attributes. Here are grace and sin in theirtrue light. By this we may know aman that has grace and the fear ofGod reigning in him, he walks inhis uprightness. He makesconscience of his actions; is faithfulboth to God and man, and everystop he makes, as well as every stephe takes, is by rule. Here is one thathonours God.But, on the contrary, he thatis perverse in his ways, thatwilfully follows his own appetitesand passions, that is unjust anddishonest and contradicts hisprofession in his conversationhowever he may pretend todevotionhe is a wicked man andwill be reckoned with as a despiserof God Himself. &Matthew Henry

Hi LiveforGod ...Your post definitely ties in with my post ...Atheist Christopher Hitchens now a U.S. Citizen: Please Pray! ...https://www.sermonindex.net/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=19339&forum=48&2i've met people who don't believe in God, but not anyone whom i'd say really "despises" God in a vitriolic way ... But this man Hitchens does ... Some of the things he says about God make me cringe in serous concern of where he's bound to spend eternity ... i'm amazed at what he says, as i'd be scared to death to do so, which he says is direct proof of a believers not being free ... So i pray for him ...But why i'm really posting here is to tell you how much i like your signiture ..."I don't like these cold, precise, perfect people, who, in order not to speak wrong, never speak at all, and in order not to do wrong, never do anything."Henry Ward Beecheri find this to be one powerful statement!
