Yes, Sparks was and is in a class of his own. The message here is a great example of the depth of revelation God gave him on certain verses. I often think of Sparks as material for maturer students of God; I think a healthy appetite and digestion of this calibre of meat indicates strong growth and a deepening of understanding in the more profound levels of God.

Another example of profound meat is found in the sermons of Edward Payson, a man of extraordinary prayer. Like Sparks, reading his material is more of an [i]experience[/i] than anything else. You get the sense of awe, you say to yourself, "This type of preaching is able to reach such dizzying heights only because the preacher himself was able to pray to such depths."
