I dont know if this man is a true prophet or not. I do know he jumped on the Y2K bandwagon pretty hard... and then nothing happened. So, it makes me wonder. However, I dont have an argument with his "prophecy". I think tho, most folks who have a basic understanding of God's nature know that He is not happy with the sins of this nation. And most would agree that sins do not go unpunished. Therefore, as common sense and history teach us... judgement will come.So in the end... how much of a prophet do you need to be to make these utterances? Not much, in my estimation.I read one of the prophecies this man gave about Canada where he shows that Canada's problem is all the immigrants and how they are bringing their sinful ways into Canada because they are attempting to escape God's judgement in their own countries... and the judgement is following them into Canada.What...?Uhmm... even the Indians were immigrants at one point. Both Canada and America are immigrant countries. And people come to these two countries for a million different reasons. So, I do think this is a good word for America, even tho it's just basic common sense. It's not rocket science. I am, however, leery of someone who is a self proclaimed prophet and who bought into and promoted the Y2K doom and gloom. And I've read all the different "prophets" explanations about why Y2K seemed to be a dud... I'm not buying it. It didnt send us into a recession, or anything else. Even 9/11 didnt send us into a recession. Folks, I have news for you... despite the BS you're being fed by the media... we are in an economic boom! I can proove it! I've never been so busy. And my stocks are super right now.It could change over night, sure. I know that. The world economy could collapse over night. Thats been true ever since there was a stock market. Look at 1929.My point is... judgement is coming. For sure. No doubt. But these doom and gloom prophets have been predicting this ever since the 1970's... setting dates for when the economy is going to collapse, etc. Jack Van Impe has made a career out of it.It's all a design to get our eyes off of Jesus and get us to worry.I'm ready. If it all collapses tomorrow... I'm ready.Krispy
Krispy, can you show us this y2k thing by mr hansen? i have never seen this and thank you in advance for your help.

Search_Me, I used to listen to shortwave. Still do on occasions, but now mostly just the BBC or others that are on FM dial. That's where I heard Jonathan Hansen years ago and the last I heard, he's still on there.First he was just on The Prophecy Club broadcast, then he got his own show.Looked on the web and there are lots of listings under "Jonathan Hansen Y2K" ... what I stuck into Search thingie.I was listening to them all before Y2K. But the bulk of what I got about Y2K was all that me and friends were cutting out of our local newspapers and they were all warnings from Senators etc.Anyhow, just grabbed a quick one here....http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=0004dYKrispy's right. But don't despair --- you have John 16:13 for "yourself". BLESS GOD ONLY !!!
The BODY works as One good Brother. :-DHey, ya know what bothers me the most about this stuff .....http://www.crosssearch.com/Science_and_Social_Science/Theology_and_Issues/Prophecy/Is that when the unsaved see how many false prophecies there are ... then when you try to give them the 'real stuff' from The Word Alone, then they say, "Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, I'm sick of hearing all's this gloom & doom junk".I've had Y2K thrown at me too ... but it wasn't because I was prophesying or showing them prophesy about "y2k" but because what some of us are feeling now, is 'similar' to the warnings going out then that failed to materialize. Even Christians are so bloody burnt out on this stuff, that they "don't want to hear one negative thing from the Holy Spirit" ... HA ... I heard an actual Pastor Say that. HOY!Looking to prophets is an O.T. thing. We don't need to nor do I recommend it AT ALL!!!!Do I believe there Are Prophets in The Body ... Sure Do ... but Ravenhill did a good job describing them and I believe what you said Krispy 100% .... if they say "I'm a Prophet" .... then I will not listen to them.Nonetheless, if they're 501c3 statis and make a living off of it. Won't go into who those are .... but, again, the promise of Jesus was to ALL of His Sheep, who KNOW HIS Voice and FOLLOW The LAMB and this is what HE promised us "all" and "this" is FREEDOM from man, but not independent from HIS Body ...... JOHN 16:13 for all......
i have not found hansen or the people talking about him saying he prophesied about y2k.am i missing something?
I do not know the answer to your question...I goggled but could not find any prophecy concerning Y2K and Hansen....It did, however, remind me of a prophecy made back in the 60's, I think. Some self-proclaimed prophet declared that California will fall off into the ocean. He explained it this way: The area known as California, is a shelf suspended over water. Now all you need is a good earthquake which will cause the area to break off and tumble into the ocean and that it would happen real soon. When I looked at CNN a few minutes ago it did not say anything about it and 40 years have pased since then, but what it did say is about a fire in Dallas...ginnyrose

The one large looming question is always this; Do these things sound like God Himself? The inflection of His voice from what He has already spoken (written), His attributes and character ... Do we know the difference?
I refer you to Grannie and Google...

so true...Real prophets are despised, not esteemed of men...at least they were in the Bible.
