| Church Complacency | | What if the preacher is preaching what God has given the him to the people, encouraging the members and doing everything he can to open the churches eyes, prompting, preaching, encouraging and praying that the church through THE LORD"S SPIRIT might have more magnified zeal, filled fuller with HIS SPIRIT and nothing seems to be happening? Lets say just for an example he sets a time for conversational prayer, where people pray for their family, the church, the lost, what ever God has put on their hearts, and out of every weekly session, out of over a 100 regular attending members of the church, only 4 to 10 show up for prayer time, most weeks only 4. Give me some ideas through HIS WORD what God is saying to you about such a church and what would be the answer.
What are some things that could be holding back HIS SPIRIT and preventing revival in a church? Ezek 33:1-4 33:1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: 3 If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; 4 Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. KJV .

| Re: Church Complacency | | moe mac, I know this scripture might not be in line with what you are saying, but, here goes.
Jer 25v3, '...this is the twenty third year in which the word of the Lord has come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, but you have not listened'.
Not very encouraging is it!
But, the thing is, after all that time, the people still refused to listen to Jeremiah, even though he spoke the word of the Lord.
Today, as you have entitled this thread, there is an overwhelming degree of complacency in the church.
People are more intrested in number one than they are in God or the things of God.
Plus, because of lack of zeal for God, prayer is boring, or not important, or something to do late at night just 2 minutes before getting into bed.
God will move. We grow impatient, I do.
But we still need to wait on God. Maybe He is waiting for us to give up before He will move.
What do I mean?
I mean, when we are weak, then He is strong, 2 Cor 12v10.
For then, God gets the glory when He does move.
We need to just love God, whether He moves or not, because that is what He wants, and because He is worthy, and for His glory
We don't need to do anything else, except to wait on Him, Psalm 27v14.
God bless.

| Re: | | You are right enid. Isa 40:31-41:1 31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.
Thanks for the encouraging words.
