Give me a break Hillary!

Sorry to get into politics here. I, myself, despise politics and here's another reason why. Hillary is brownie hounding the "religious" people of this country trying to get votes.

Here's the quote on how she got through her husbands adultery. "I am very grateful that I had a grounding in faith that gave me the courage and the strength to do what I thought was right, regardless of what the world thought." I don't know much about these candidates. But, I think that if Hillary really had the faith that gives here the courage and strength to do what is right regardless of the world then she wouldn't support so many ungodly things--abortion, sodomite marriage, etc.

GIVE ME A BREAK HILLARY!

Sad thing is lots of people are going to see her as some deeply spiritual person. Sorry, all I see is another hypocrite using religion to buy people.

 Re: Give me a break Hillary!

After hearing Paul Washer's - By Faith series earlier today;
I have been thinking upon the meaning of faith as it is presented in scripture, & I have to confess some of my preconceived notions of faith were a bit superficial and worldly

I would be curious to hear her definition of the faith she describes.

 Re: Give me a break Hillary!

That quote was from a special on "The Situation Room" on CNN yesterday. I watched some of it. Hilary was interviewed along with the other 2 major democratic candidates, Obabma, and Edwards.

It was pretty hard to watch. All of their responses seemed so canned. They used all of the Christianese expressions to their advantage. Edwards reminded everyone that "we all fall short." Hilary also talked about all of the "prayer warriors" who prayed for her to help her get through her issue with her husband. Obama was the least nauseating, since he pretty much ignored the faith part of the questions at all and just talked about education/poverty reform.

When I watch these things, I can't help but worry that they are just trying to profit from the gospel.

Yes NLONG, I understand your frustration with politics, as I am sure many of us do. I am thinking I may just cast a vote for God, and leave these old politicians out of it.

Yes, this makes me extremely irritated. Hilary's take on abortion is the opposite of faith - it is spineless. Woman should be able to choose, but she hopes they choose not to get an abortion? At this faith and politics dialog, she also talked about trying to find some common ground between the pro-life and pro-choice crowds. Fine, but we'd have to start where she is unwilling to: that is is always wrong to murder a baby.

 Re: I hate politics too.

... but I see Eschatology in it. That's the only time I get involved in it.

Isa 3:12 As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Well, I think that maybe we may be in for the 'whole' of Isaiah chpt. 3 if she gets in. Her favorite books are "1984" & "A Brave New World".
Yikes, we're in a world of mess. Full blown Fascist-Fabian-Socialism is on the Horizon. The Word said so thousands of years ago anyways, before we've seen it coming in this world of Globalism.

We deserve it. Sorry. But I'm in that age bracket that has seen us go from T.V. being roundish screens & black & white.

We've not taken care of our poor ... we're as immoral as any nation on earth and Isreal has become so too. JUST look back 50 years at Morality alone, if nothing else - "for God's sake".

The Bill Clinton Initiative is another U.N. type Org and may even overshadow it - from what I've heard - that was something of the plan all along anyways. The UN or a similar/newly named power after/along with it will be the Seat of "who's" coming and is the seat of the one world "governance" - religion, etc. that we've read about forever in His Word. They have planned to move outta N.Y. and to Jerusalem one day from the git-go. Very prophetic.

It allllll happens in N.Y., then moves to Jerusalem. Rev. 18 anyone ?

These are going to be scarey times in 2008 on ... no doubt ... unless we or Israel strikes Iran this year. Whenever that happens, that 'will' be WW3 - and "the rich men of this earth" will have some "man" come and 'save the day' and the world eventually - through the UN or through the one that replaces/merges that name of that power.

We certainly need the sack cloth and ashes now.
And actually - we do, no matter who wins the next Seat.

 Re:

Brothers and Sisters,

What, do ye not trust or believe the Word of God? All this fretting over who is really a person of faith, whoever holds the office will be the one The Lord puts there. Its not our
Choice it is His.

Exodus 22:28
Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.

Acts 23:5
Then said Paul, I wist not, brethren, that he was the high priest: for it is written, Thou shalt not speak evil of the ruler of thy people.

Romans 13:1-7
Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. [2] Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. [3] For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same: [4] For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil. [5] Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. [6] For for this cause pay ye tribute also: for they are God's ministers, attending continually upon this very thing. [7] Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.

1 Peter 2:13-17
Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; [14] Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well. [15] For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men: [16] As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God. [17] Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

We would do much better using our energy obeying and trusting His Word.

Philip. 4:4-8
Rejoice in the Lord alway: and again I say, Rejoice. [5] Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. [6] Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. [7] And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. [8] Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

In His Love

Could be worse - the U.S. could be ruled by a "Born Again" "Decider" who is anti-abortion, anti-stem-cell-research and yet is a warmongerer responsible for the wholesale slaughter of 650,000 Iraqis - mostly civilians.

Give me a break... all politicians alike.

"Sad thing is lots of people are going to see her as some deeply spiritual person. Sorry, all I see is another hypocrite using religion to buy people."

Funny, I'd suspect you wouldn't bring this up about a Republican candidate talking about his faith! Red & blue alike use religion to get votes, it's politics. Neoconservatives are much more known for doing this. George W. Bush (or really, Karl Rove) is a good example.

 Re:pastorfrin

Brother, I agree with you about "not fretting" and the verses you gave. I haven't fretted over this in a couple decades, because I know how it's gonna go and end. That brings me JOY unspeakable.

Psa 118:9 It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

Psa 146:3 Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help.

About watching current events - 1Ch 12:32 And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do ...

My only interest, as I've said is where these things pertain to Eschatology, which we're commanded to "watch".

That doesn't nullify the verses you gave at all.
But some folks could use Phil. 4:8 and others like it that and I've seen this happen - to throw out eschatology on the basis that it's not seemingly "lovely or a good report", etc..
The Doctrine makes folks uncomfortable so they swing into other modes of a more pleasant kind, for them. Now 'that' IS fear.

There's 3 times as many prophecies regarding His Second Coming and what will precede it than there was for His first advent.

I know that you don't feel some Scriptures can cancel out other Scriptures. And believe that only Scripture can interpret Scripture. Thank God.

The only reason I love watching these times, is because I KNOW WHAT'S COMING AFTER them. :-D

2Ti 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me/us a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that LOVE HIS APPEARING.

Stay watchful and know the signs HE said. 8-) I is - got my oil lamp filled with plenty more to last through the coming darkness until my/our Bridegroom cometh.
Imagine, that in 2000 years, God set us in the generation in which we were born. I can't find that verse right now ... but I love it.

I feel honored that He'd let me be born for such a time as this. That's an honor to all of us who love not their lives unto death.

Glory !!!

Psa 102:15 So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth thy glory.
Psa 102:16 When the LORD shall build up Zion, HE SHALL APPEAR IN HIS GLORY.
Psa 102:17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
Psa 102:18 This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
Psa 102:19 For he hath looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
Psa 102:20 To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
Psa 102:21 To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
Psa 102:22 When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
Psa 102:23 He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
Psa 102:24 I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: thy years are throughout all generations.
Psa 102:25 Of old hast thou laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of thy hands.
Psa 102:26 They shall perish, but thou shalt endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shalt thou change them, and they shall be changed:
Psa 102:27 But thou art the same, and thy years shall have no end.
Psa 102:28 The children of thy servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before thee.

Love in Him.
Annie
