Saints,
Hear the voice of Evan Roberts preaching in 1905, this short 11 second clip has been found of evan roberts preaching, see if you can make out any words. A century after the last religious revival in Wales, a recording of the voice of the most prominent leader of the movement has been discovered.

| Re: Hear the voice of Evan Roberts preaching in 1905 | | It's pretty tough, but that voice sounds like one of the voices on the "Revival Hymn".
These are some of the words that I think that I am hearing.
"Righteousness tells of His glorious deeds...all eternity will not........He was prostrated...what can we give God in service"
Anyone have a better ear? What I am hearing may not even be what he is saying.

That is pretty close to the actual words he is saying, very helpful to read it while listening. _________________ SI Moderator - Greg Gordon

| Re: This is not Evan Roberts Voice | | Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but this is definately not the voice of Evan Roberts. I have preached at his chapel many times and have listened to the only surviving recording of this great man. 1. His native tongue was Welsh, that was the language of the revivial of 1904-05. 2. The recorded voice is Scottish.
I will try and get the recording of Evan Roberts Voice from a friend of mine who had a copy. I will share it with SI as soon as possible.
My first thought of who the voice came from is Duncan Campell.
God bless
Rhys

If you hear the Revival Hymn one of the speakers speaking sounds exactly like this supposed recording of Evan Roberts. |
