"And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus."And Saul arose from the earth...It stands out to me that Saul, after seeing a heavenly vision of Christ, was brought down to the earth from which he came. And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Not too long ago I recieved a sort of rebuke from a man who it appeared to me was homeless. I was giving out Christian literature and I approached him with some question. His reply to me was something like this: you know what I'm tired of? I'm tired of all these Christians and muslims{he included them) around here that have forgotten where they came from.Well, I say I recieved it. I needed to be reminded of it.I find it a recurring challenge in the Christian life, to remember from which I came. What is it that causes us to forget? Is it that we are so often around the holy things of God, that we begin to imagine that we are holy in ourselves? Or so often around the heavenly things that we forget the dust from which we came? The scripture says Hearken to me, ye that follow after righteousness, ye that seek the Lord: look unto the rock whence ye are hewn, and to the hole of the pit whence ye are digged.God help us to not forget.Acts 9:8Genesis 2:7Isaiah 51:1EDIT: a second recollection of the conversation makes me think that I was either giving out literature or just talkig to people about the Bible. Am not certain on that point but thought I should add that so as to be as truthfull as possible.
