Re: a satirical look at what some people think Jesus is like.

yeah I watched these with a group of brothers and sisters...and I was the only one who ceased to see the humor. I know what people think of Jesus...I live in this world...I don't know...I just didn't dig them nor did I find them increasing my knowledge of God and His Word

 Re:

Leave it to an emergent church to use blasphemy to 'evangelize'. What's next...pornography to help people know the opposite of virtue and chastity? Remember the good ole days when we were worried about the ear candy preaching of the seeker sensitive chuches? Now we have the Spirit-insensitivity of post-modern churches.

It is impossible for me to imagine a true Christian employing such disingenuous tactics to portray their Savior. Would Paul sign his name to this humor? How about Wesley? Or Spurgeon?

edit: at least this church has a decent statement of faith...especially this telling line from their own website: If the church is not the church, God will remove the lampstand/Revelation 2

Mercy,

MC

Did you read there "Theology on Tap"??

On the third Tuesday of each month we gather at a local pub to talk about God and culture over a pint. This is a great time to get to know people from Vintage21, as well as a comfortable atmosphere for your friends who might not enjoy church but like talking about spiritual matters. Join us February 20, 8:30, at local favorite Mitch’s Tavern. Go straight up the stairs past the first dining room, and take a left into the back room.

The more I see this kind of stuff the more I see the pain in our Lord's heart. I think it's just a matter of time now.

Eph. 5:1 Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. 3 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. 4 Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. maybe i'm just a little narrow minded, but i don't see the point in showing what Jesus is not like. we have the whole Bible showing what He is like!

seems like it makes more fun of Jesus than making fun of what people think of Him.

 Re:

IT sad, if they knew who Jesus was, they wouldn't dare do the things they joke about, My God is a consuming fire.... and many people are gonna get burned one day, people need to repent, and come to Christ,

problem is people know about Christ, they don't know HIM,

 Re:

I emailed the "ministry" and complained about the content of the videos. We should all do the same. The internet has made it very easy for us to voice our opinions

 Re:

I think what's even more sad is that they have a page on myspace and there's countless of comments from Christians encouraging them to make more of these video's.

How does one get to that place?
