IT'S TIME TO PRAISE GOD - Part 4
BEING THANKFUL AND GIVING GOD PRAISE
In this lesson we will learn the importance of giving thanks to God. To receive future blessings, it is vital for you to be thankful for what God has done for you in the past.
I Where are the nine? - Luke 17:11-19.
A Ten lepers came to Jesus to be healed and said, "Jesus, Master, have mercy on us" - v. 13.
B Jesus said, "Go, show yourselves to the priests" - v. 14.
C As they went they were cleansed. They had to act on their faith.
D One of the lepers, a Samaritan, returned to Jesus and thanked Him.
E There were ten lepers cleansed, but only one came back to give glory to God.
F Jesus said to the one, "Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well" - v. 19.
II Count your blessings and have an attitude of gratitude.
A James 1:17 - "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights."
B Colossians 3:17 - And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him."
C Psalm 103:2 - "Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits."
D Ephesians 5:20 - "Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father."
III Get rid of ungratefulness in your life.
A God is not to blame for the bad things in your life. They happened because of the devil, your own mistakes, or because we live in a fallen world.
B Determine not to be a complaining and faultfinding person.
C Make a decision for every day to be a thanksgiving day in your life.
Are you a complaining and faultfinding person?
What do you need to do to become a more thankful person?
Name some things for which you are thankful.
BE A DOER OF THE WORD
This week count your blessings by making a list of all the things for which you are thankful.
