The Marriage Supper and The Bride?

Not too long ago heard a sermon by brother leonard ravenhill(who is my favorite preacher, by the way) and he stated that he does not believe that every believer, though saved and in heaven, will be part of the bride and attend the marriage supper of the Lamb. What do you think?

I don't know... doesn't make much sense to me. I'd have to listen to the context of the sermon to understand his point fully... i.e. what Scriptures were he referring to and what was his reason.

What Scripture did he use to back that claim up?

Man, Jordan! That was funny! We posted at the same time and asked about the same question. Kinda freaky. Maybe we're twins. :-)

Re: The Marriage Supper and The Bride?

I haven't heard brother Ravenhill sermon but I would love to hear it. Please let me know where I could find that sermon...

I fully agree with brother Ravenhill: not every Christian will be a part of the Bride.
In Revelation it is written: And the Spirit and the bride say, Come!
What do we really say?
The Bride is preparing, she is waiting for her bridegroom... She is very careful to keep her clothes clean, without a spot. She doesn't want to make any compromise. She is in love, She obeys Him!!! How are we?

For we are made partakers of Christ, IF we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end; Hebrew 3:14

But Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, IF we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end. Hebrew 3:6

I don't think he was refering to Christians losing thier salvation, but only particular Christians take part in the "supper".

 Re: Marriage Supper and Bride

Are there any verses other than those few in Revelation that deal with this topic? I'm not 100% convinced it isn't figurative.

Most people I have heard that believe strongly in it being an actually supper believe it is 7 years long and after the Church has been "raptured." But this plainly can't be because the supper doesn't happen until after "the great whore" is judged.

Neither do I... if we look closely at the verses from Hebrew we could see that there is a condition for the privilege to be close to Christ (partakers).
