I still remember the first time I heard it. But the Lord was pleased to crush Him
The word crush really stuck out in my head. I looked it up in Strongs and found this:
a primitive root (compare 'dakah'; to crumble; transitively, to bruise (literally or figuratively):--beat to pieces, break (in pieces), bruise, contrite, crush, destroy, humble, oppress, smite.
I was astounded. I just couldnt get over It
bruise
crush
beat to pieces
destroy.
A few days later I leaned that the word Gethsemane originates from a Hebrew term meaning oil press,
a place where things are crushed. I now understood what could cause someone to sweat blood, because I knew what was in that cup.
And thats when it hit me
the most important part of the verse
the Lord was PLEASED.
My Lord and Savior loved me so much that he was
happy
glad
The definition of pleased is experienced pleasure
to bruise
crush
beat to pieces
destroy him, his only son, whom he had been together with forever, for
me.
Jesus could have said no.
But he loved me too much for that.
Jesus loves me This I know, For the Bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong. Yes, Jesus loves me Yes, Jesus loves me Yes, Jesus loves me The Bible tells me so.
Isaiah 53:10 (nasb): But the LORD was pleased to crush Him, putting Him to grief; If He would render Himself as a guilt offering, He will see His offspring, He will prolong His days, And the good pleasure of the LORD will prosper in His hand.
God bless
