| Re: Derek Prince | | Derek Prince, in most areas, is an exceptional Bible teacher. I believe he died in 2003.
He had a tremendous deliverance ministry and saw thousands delivered from demons and bondage of all sorts. I just read his book "They shall expel demons" and it was an excellent read. I've seen the principles in it put into practice and it definately works - no doubt about it.
He would have the whole "alter" areas of churches filled with people seeking deliverance, and he would lead them through a process of self-deliverance, and all over the place they would start manifesting and having demons cast out - convulsing, hacking, throwing up, and getting set free from years of bondage, sin, and addictions of all sorts.
In this aspect, he has much wisdom and very well-balanced deliverance theology (unlike many deliverance ministries). I would reccomend his sermons on this subject - you can download them here: http://consuming-fire.us/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=28 |

| Re: | | Derek Prince was an Englishman based in the US. He was part of the Charismatic Renewal movement and was associated, at one time, with the Shepherding Movement. His eschatalogy was very Israel centred and his teaching on demons was not always regarded as 'very well-balanced'.
You can get a sample of his teaching and style with the "Derek Prince Legacy" podcasts which can be accessed through the ITunes Store. _________________ Ron Bailey

| Re: | | An excellent bible teacher who had the God given and honed ability to state complex bible truths in easy to understand ways. Excellent teaching on the cross, freedom from sin, the blood etc. You will benefit from hearing his sermons and reading his books i am sure. _________________ George Platt

Derek publicly repented of having been involved in the Shepherding Movement and renounced his involvment in it.
As to the Charismatic Renewal, he did not agree with everything that went on in it - especially all the goofy manifestations. He wrote a book called "Protection from Deception" in which he addresses counterfeit signs and wonders and warns against deception. View: http://65.108.220.179/dprince.html - He cast demons out of many of those people!
I do not agree either with all his Israel theology, but I wouldn't "throw the baby out with the bath water". Nobody has everything right.
I say well balanced deliverance theology because many deliverance ministries go off on crazy tangeants, looking for a demon in every pig and wasting all kinds of time focusing on trying to break generational curses. Derek's methods however are soundly repentance based. REPENT and RENOUNCE is the center of his deliv. theology. |

| Re: | | By Israel centered, do you mean in the sense Art Katz is? That is, expecting a soon coming eschatological judgment of the Jews that will include an expulsion from the land? And by deliverance ministry, do you mean casting demons out of Christians? _________________ Jimmy H

| Re: | | Josef_Urban,
thank you for your information and link. Do you know of any other web sources that contain sermons by Mr Prince? Apparently he recorded many audio messages (over 400 I believe) but they seem quite difficult to find on the internet. I have ordered some tapes from Derek Prince Ministries UK but they are rather expensive in my opinion. |

| Re: Derek Prince | | That was a teacher who could explain the holy Scriptures to a 5 year old and they would understand it! No fuss, no moss kind of teacher. A beautiful example of a highly educated mind submitted to the Lord. Blessed be God for him. _________________ Tolu

| Re: | | hi, i liked derek prince and was part of the cult that he and bro simpson and bro mumphurt started with good hearts. after being negatively effected by how this movement turned out, i became bitter toward brother simpson who recruited me and held this bitterness in my heart for a long time. i ran into bro. simpson in orlando and approached him and confessed my bitterness toward him and he told me he had repented of this a few years ago and begged my forgiveness.we hugged and the realization that i was letting something that someone had already repented of stirred within me.i would like to warn all to be carefull of your watchmen mentality that you do not speak against those who God has forgiven..jimp |
