| Re: | | Psalm 11:4-6 (ESV)
4The LORD is in his holy temple; the LORD's throne is in heaven; his eyes see, his eyelids test, the children of man. 5The LORD tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence. 6Let him rain coals on the wicked; fire and sulfur and a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.
That is what I was thinking as well.
But how does this impact John 3:16? John 3:16 (ESV)
16"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. |

He loves as His creation, however, He hates who it has become.

| Re: | | Logic,
So you are saying that God has Agape love for all people, but hates what has become of them?
Please explain in more detail. |

| Re: Question concerning God's Agape love | | It is scriptual that God hates the unbeliever:
Rom 9:13 As it is written, Jacob have I loved, but Esau have I hated.
Psa 5:5 The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who do iniquity.
Psa 11:5 The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.
But at the same time the Bible teaches that God loves all men:
Joh 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
Rom 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
I personally believe this Love God has towards mankind is compared to the common and effectual call of men:
Mat 22:14 "For many are called, but few are chosen."
I believe that God loves the wicked, unbeliever in a different way that He loves His elect. If He truly hated the unbeliever why would He grant anything to them in the way of common grace. God is sovereign over all things. Us humans, our finite minds cannot conprehend His love and hatred towards mankind, we cannot discern and define what His divine love and hatred is.
Isa 55:8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. |

So you say that God has Agape Love towards some people but not all people? |

God IS agape. He cannot be NOT-agape. God can love and hate at the same time. There is no temper in God's attitudes toward his creation but settled states. _________________ Ron Bailey
