Re: Best Sermon Ever?

wow! what a question...it's hard to say.
but i'm certain that it would have, among it's finer points, two clear teachings from scripture...
1. the Gospel of jesus Christ and the power of the cross for salvation for all who believe.
2. This has to be among the most important messages in the Bible...James 1:22, "But be ye doers of the Word and not just hearers only decieving you're own-selves."

no matter how powerful the message it wont do any good if you do-not do it.

as to the original question...given more thought to it....maybe the best sermon evr was preached by Peter in the second Chapter of Acts
God Bless!

A Call to Anguish by David Wilkerson

You can just feel Gods pain through Pastor Dave.

:-)
I knew someone was going to say that or Jesus' sermon on the mount.
Good answer.
Although I guess I meant best uninspired sermon ever.

Thanks for your answers.

 Re:

When i think of the impact that it has had on many lives, Ten Shekels and a Shirt would have to rank up there.

i believe that every sermon should be inspired if it isn't inspired its not from god and has no value. the words i preach today should be no less inspired than those of jesus.

 Re:

a call to anguish would be a great choice, i agree.
David Wilkerson and Leonard Ravenhill among the best preachers to encourage and to realy challenge the listener to know God not just know about him.

and thier life's are a testimony to the message they preach...integrity.

with that said...(i know this strays from the original thought you intended but...)
"The best message preached ...is the message we live

 Re: Best Sermon Ever?

I believe that this question in itself is dangerous. What do we have that was not given by God in His mercy? When we discuss about the best sermon, the glory is given to the wrong person. The Holy Spirit speaks thru His servants according to His will to the right audience at the right time. Let us not give room to the spirit of this age where such things are important..who is the best, why is he the best etc etc...As John the Baptist said - I must decrease and HE MUST INCREASE!!! May every servant of God who stands with His word be hidden in the blood of the Lamb so that the Lamb alone gets the Glory!!
