As A Prince Thou Hast Prevailed -moore

As A Prince Thou Hast Prevailed
By W. C. Moore

"Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest" (Heb. 4:11).

One of the great, predominant, outstanding and delusive sins – right in the midst of the most spiritual people in the world today, is this: earnest and sincere people of God confess the lack of holiness and are really disturbed about the spiritual condition of their lives: they talk about this need and bemoan their condition to others but at the same time they neglect to seek God wholeheartedly, and to definitely pray through in order that they shall have no condemnation on their heart but have in actual experience the testimony of a day by day walk "in the Spirit."

We are exhorted to "walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh" (Gal. 5:16). It requires not only yieldedness to God but also earnest, even violent seeking, to get the whole life in a place where the Spirit of God actually is in control (Matt. 11:12). It is only when we seek God with all our heart that we find in Him an abounding sufficiency to live a life of uninterrupted victory (Matt. 7:7; Jer. 29:13).

Many of God’s people have good desires, but they never apply themselves and seek God with all their heart until their great spiritual need is met by God’s superabundant supply. "If ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live" (Rom. 8:13). Satan fights those who are determined to have an overcoming life and testimony. We must make up our minds to battle through in prayer until we actually have the experience of walking in the Spirit – with a heart that is right, and conduct that is right, and words that are right with God. This is the real overcoming life, lived by the power of God’s Spirit within us.

The Peril of Coming Short

"Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it" (Heb. 4:1). The danger is not that we go too far with God, but that we come short. If by any means he might attain, Paul pressed toward the mark! (Phil. 3:14). Jesus warns us to "Strive" – that is, agonize (Gr.) – "…to enter in" (Luke 13:24). And also to "Take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting…and cares of this life, and so that day come upon YOU unawares. For as a snare shall it come…Watch YE therefore, and pray always, that YE may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:34-36).

The Coming of the Lord Draweth Nigh
James 5:8

"Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ; who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto Himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works" (Titus 2:13-14). The least thing God wants us to do is more important than anything else in all the world! Better to miss anything than fail to be ready when our Lord comes!

That is really a great article that ought to be shouted from the rooftops, the simple truth of the Gospel as to how to live a holy life in just a few short words. What's the old saying? "The truth seldom comes wearing fancy clothes". Well it proves true here. This article presents a huge truth that is able to literally transform the church if earnestly taken to heart.

I think Ezekiel is speaking to the same end here:

Eze 36:25-27 Then will I sprinkle clean water

upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your

filthiness, and from all your idols, will I

cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you,

and a new spirit will I put within you: and I

will take away the stony heart out of your

flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause

you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my

judgments, and do them.

This is a good and faithful promise, but if you jump on down in the chapter you can see how the fulfillment of this promise is brought about:

Eze 36:37 Thus saith the Lord GOD; I

will yet for this be inquired of by the house of

Israel, to do it for them ; I will

increase them with men like a flock.

If we have not actually experienced the fullness of this promise in our own lives, then I believe as the writer and the scripture teach that the remedy is to pray through until we are actually walking in the promises of God.

I know Finney and Wilkerson both use these verses in Ezekiel in order to teach the idea of laying hold onto a holy life through prayer. We indeed have the promises there in the book but it is also necessary to inquire of the Lord in order to make them a reality in our own lives.
I have found this truth of praying through issues unto victory to be a great cause for rejoicing. Aleluia, the Gospel really does work if we do things God's way and on his terms which are absolute surrender and praying night and day. Though, I don't think anything short of this will have much success if a pure heart is what it is that we are after.

Luk 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him...

amen, amen.

there are many who talk about holiness, but are not really seeking it. good intentions are nothing if your not taking action. i'm sure there are a lot of people in hell that had good intentions.

my thing is not that i'm overcome by sin, but i need a fresh baptism of the Holy Spirit again.

i am seriously fasting and praying for such. i want to be oh so close to my Lord and Savior, to touch His throne room again!

God bless
