In light of the what happened to the Apostle Paul, John the Apostle and many other Godly men in Scriptures I definitely think something like this is possible. It is also possible for people to have false or demonic ones as well. As in everything else, it must be tested against the Word of God. In light of Hebrews 9:27, though, I think we need to define what it means to die. It seems that the correct definition would be that your soul/spirit has left your body for good. In light of what Scripture says, I don't think someone flatlining or having their heart stop is a sufficient definition...

I dont think it's impossible for us to have an experience like that, but I am leary of about 99% of the experiences we hear about.
