Canada Day crowds

My wife and I are going to be heading down to the provincial Legislature grounds in Edmonton, Alberta on Saturday to hand out tracts and witness to the throngs of people that will be out enjoying Canada Day. (hopefully there will be throngs)

Please pray that God will prepare the soil of hearts to receive the Gospel of Jesus. Stand with me against the fear of man that continually tries to suppress my obedience to Him.

I haven't done any open air yet, but I pray that God will anoint me and give me the unction and the boldness to speak the words that I ought.

I encourage anyone in the area to come and join in the sowing and reaping!

Any open air-ers planning anything for the long weekend?

Onward,
Brad

 Re: Canada Day crowds

I think its a great time to witness and hand out tracts! Here is some sad history to know about this day:

Quote:
Canada Day

Background

On June 20, 1868, a proclamation signed by the Governor General, Lord Monck, called upon all Her Majesty's loving subjects throughout Canada to join in the celebration of the anniversary of the formation of the union of the British North America provinces in a federation under the name of Canada on July 1st.

The July 1 holiday was established by statute in 1879, under the name Dominion Day.

So the orgininal day was called: "Dominion Day" and why is that signifigant? well here is how the day was named:

"The term Dominion was originated for Canada's formation in 1867. Sir Samuel Leonard Tilley suggested the term to the Fathers of Confederation at their meeting after his morning devotionals, during which he read Psalm 72:8: "He shall have dominion from sea to sea." Tilley's suggestion was adopted unanimously."

The day was formed to celebrate the formation of the nation and they used a bible verse to declare that is was God's dominion over Canada! I have a tract called:

"Canada and the Book of Life" that talks about this same thing in the tract and then gives the gospel. Canada was founded on Christian belief and principles. Oh how we have fallen.

I will be in Toronto and by God's grace I will be doing some evangelism also.

 Re:

We had a great time in Belleville, Ontario. 99% of the people took Gospel tracts last night - "Canada and the Book of Life" tracts from the Evangelical Tract Distributors in Edmonton and the "I AM? Canadian?" tracts from Living Waters Canada.

We had a small open air meeting at a park beside the lake front and a young lady who was there spoke to my friend Johnny Parks and said she "didn't want to do it in front of all these people" but said when she got home she was giving her life to Christ and turning form her sins! Praise God!
