Must Read Books

What are the must reads that should line every Christian's bookshelf? I need some stuff with substance.

A.W.Tozer
The Pursuit of God
The Knowledge of The Holy

Pilgrims Progress ~ John Bunyon

Right off the bat those to me are must reading.
Certainly there are many others. As far as I am concerned if it has Tozer's name on it, it is a must.

Guessing that you have been through the other post's in this regard and the list's vary. So I also would like to see the "Must" read list's, see if I have missed something.

But perhaps for clairification we shold move this over to the "Recommended Books" section.

 Re: Must Read Books

I don't know what your level of "substance" is, and before y'all attack me, please remember I'm less than two years old! lol :-P
I have to say that I really love the student editions of Case for Christ and Case for Faith by Lee Strobel. I'm impressed by them, and love buying them as gifts for those who are non-believers or new in their faith or struggling in their faith. I like student editions because he doesn't spend pages building up the credibility of those he's about to interview.
A.W. Tozer's Pursuit of God and Pursuit of Man are must-reads. I especially loved the sequel, especially the bit about the Holy Spirit. I agree with Mike, too; my women's Bible Study group is reading Knowledge of the Holy right now. Awesome book.
I like Max Lucado for young Christians, too. I loved Six Hours One Sunday. A good book to put things into perspective.
And for women, and men who have trouble putting themselves in the place Jesus. It's another simple book, and a bit pop culture and modern in its approach...but you know what? It was Biblical, honest, forthright, and definitely an amazingly good read. It's by Dee Brestin and Kathy Troccoli (yes, the singer). Kathy proves to be such a humble yet strong woman of God. She really bears her heart, sharing bits of the journal she writes to the husband she hopes God will send soon. The book is about that personal and intimate relationship with Christ, while still remembering that He has the position of authority, and will care for you like no other. It really lays out how He's the only one we should desire and seek and realize that He's the only one we need and should depend on. Good stuff.

I am re-reading and going through some books by Duncan Campbell I look forward to sharing some great stuff in the Duncan Campbell Forum Section. I also want to start listening to his sermons more closely and start to piece together some principles and events from the revivals he experienced. There is much to be learned from this man of God!

The Nature of a God-sent Revival by Duncan Campbell
The Price and Power of Revival by Duncan Campbell
Channel of Revival (biography of Duncan Campbell) by Andrew A. Woolsey

I thought that this is quite invaluable information so it wouldn't hurt to re-post it in this section, thanks lars for supplying this great information.
