Ye servants of God, your Master proclaim, And publish abroad His wonderful Name; The Name all victorious of Jesus extol, His kingdom is glorious and rules over all.
The waves of the sea have lift up their voice, Sore troubled that we in Jesus rejoice; The floods they are roaring, but Jesus is here; While we are adoring, He always is near.
Men devils engage, the billows arise, And horribly rage, and threaten the skies: Their fury shall never our steadfastness shock, The weakest believer is built on a rock.
God ruleth on high, almighty to save, And still He is nigh, His presence we have; The great congregation His triumph shall sing, Ascribing salvation to Jesus, our King.
Salvation to God, who sits on the throne! Let all cry aloud and honor the Son; The praises of Jesus the angels proclaim, Fall down on their faces and worship the Lamb.
Then let us adore and give Him His right, All glory and power, all wisdom and might; All honor and blessing with angels above, And thanks never ceasing and infinite love.

Hebrews 2:11 - 16 ... For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying: "I will declare Your name to My brethren; In the midst of the assembly I will sing praise to You." And again: "I will put My trust in Him." And again: "Here am I and the children whom God has given Me."
Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.
Romans 9:7, 8 nor are they all children because they are the seed of Abraham; but, "In Isaac your seed shall be called." That is, those who are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God; but the children of the promise are counted as the seed.
Romans 8:27 - 39 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.
What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?
Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.
Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter." Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

... being able to love Him will all my heart and mind and soul and strength, in peace, and for ever
O magnify the Lord with me, Ye people of His choice. Let all to whom He lendeth breath Now in His Name rejoice. For loves blest revelation, For rest from condemnation, For uttermost salvation, To Him give thanks.
Refrain Let all the people praise Thee, Let all the people praise Thee, Let all the people praise Thy Name Forever and forevermore.
O praise Him for His holiness, His wisdom, and His grace; Sing praises for His precious blood Which ransomed all our race. In tenderness He sought us; From depths of sin He brought us; The way of life then taught us. To Him give thanks.
Refrain
Had I a thousand tongues to sing, The half could neer be told Of love so rich, so full and free, Of blessings manifold; Of grace that faileth never, Peace flowing as a river From God, the glorious Giver. To Him give thanks.

Luke 8:38 - 56 Now the man from whom the demons had departed begged Him that he might be with Him. But Jesus sent him away, saying, "Return to your own house, and tell what great things God has done for you." And he went his way and proclaimed throughout the whole city what great things Jesus had done for him.
So it was, when Jesus returned, that the multitude welcomed Him, for they were all waiting for Him. And behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue. And he fell down at Jesus' feet and begged Him to come to his house, for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He went, the multitudes thronged Him.
Now a woman, having a flow of blood for twelve years, who had spent all her livelihood on physicians and could not be healed by any, came from behind and touched the border of His garment. And immediately her flow of blood stopped. And Jesus said, "Who touched Me?" When all denied it, Peter and those with him said, "Master, the multitudes throng and press You, and You say, 'Who touched Me?' " But Jesus said, "Somebody touched Me, for I perceived power going out from Me." Now when the woman saw that she was not hidden, she came trembling; and falling down before Him, she declared to Him in the presence of all the people the reason she had touched Him and how she was healed immediately. And He said to her, "Daughter, be of good cheer; your faith has made you well. Go in peace." While He was still speaking, someone came from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, "Your daughter is dead. Do not trouble the Teacher." But when Jesus heard it, He answered him, saying, "Do not be afraid; only believe, and she will be made well."
When He came into the house, He permitted no one to go in except Peter, James, and John, and the father and mother of the girl. Now all wept and mourned for her; but He said, "Do not weep; she is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him, knowing that she was dead. But He put them all outside, took her by the hand and called, saying, "Little girl, arise." Then her spirit returned, and she arose immediately. And He commanded that she be given something to eat. And her parents were astonished, but He charged them to tell no one what had happened.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | I didn't want to edit my post above, but want to share that the hymn above is usually sung with the whole chorus repeated once.
This is done by ending the last 'forevermore' briskly, and singing another 'forevermore O Lord' in the space. Then it sounds like:
Forever and forevermore (forevermore O Lord) Let
The next 'all' of 'all the people praise Thee' is the first downbeat of the next line, which begins on the upbeat with that 'Let' (above).
For those who can make sense of sol-fah, the extra 'forevermore O Lord' is sung on
s - fe - s - la - s - fe - s
For e - ver - more - O - Lord - Let
to the same swinging rhythm
te - tum - te - tum - te - tum - te
(My software won't read the way cyberhymnal has posted the score, so I assume it doesn't show this repeat, given in the old Redemption Hymnal.)
Glorify God in your hearts! Amen!

Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart; Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art. Thou my best Thought, by day or by night, Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.
Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word; I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord; Thou my great Father, I Thy true son; Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.
Riches I heed not, nor mans empty praise, Thou mine Inheritance, now and always: Thou and Thou only, first in my heart, High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.
High King of Heaven, my victory won, May I reach Heavens joys, O bright Heavens Sun! Heart of my own heart, whatever befall, Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

John 19: 1 - 19 Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, and said, 'Hail, King of the Jews!' And they smote him with their hands.
Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, 'Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him'. Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, 'Behold the man!'
When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, 'Crucify, crucify!' Pilate saith unto them, 'Take ye him, and crucify: for I find no fault in him'.
The Jews answered him, 'We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God'. When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid; and went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, 'Whence art thou?'
But Jesus gave him no answer. Then saith Pilate unto him, 'Speakest thou not unto me? Knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?' Jesus answered 'Thou couldest have no power against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.'
And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, 'If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar'. When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha. And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, 'Behold your King!' But they cried out, 'Away with him, away with him, crucify him'. Pilate saith unto them, 'Shall I crucify your King?' The chief priests answered, 'We have no king but Caesar.'
Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away. And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha: where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst. And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.
25 - 30 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, 'Woman, behold thy son!' Then saith he to the disciple, 'Behold thy mother!' And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.
After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, 'I thirst'. Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth. When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, 'It is finished': and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... His continuing faithful leadership of my life
March on, my soul, with strength, March forward, void of fear; He who hath led will lead, While year succeedeth year; And as thou goest on thy way, His hand shall hold thee day by day.
March on, my soul, with strength, In ease thou dar'st not dwell; High duty calls thee forth, Then up, and quit thee well! Take up thy cross, take up thy sword, And fight the battles of thy Lord!
March on, my soul, with strength, With strength, but not thine own; The conquest thou shalt gain, Through Christ thy Lord alone; His grace shall nerve thy feeble arm, His love preserve thee safe from harm.
March on, my soul, with strength, From strength to strength march on; Warfare shall end at length, All foes be overthrown, Then, O my soul, if faithful now, The crown of life awaits thy brow.

Matthew 28:1 - 6 Now after the Sabbath, as the first of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men. But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. "He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay".
Revelation 4: end 8 - 11 "Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, Who was and is and is to come!" Whenever the living creatures give glory and honor and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before Him who sits on the throne and worship Him who lives forever and ever, and cast their crowns before the throne, saying: "You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created."
Revelation 5:8 - 14 Now when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll, And to open its seals; For You were slain, And have redeemed us to God by Your blood Out of every tribe and tongue and people and nation, And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth."
Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne, the living creatures, and the elders; and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice: "Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!"
And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying: "Blessing and honor and glory and power Beto Him who sits on the throne, And to the Lamb, forever and ever!"
Then the four living creatures said, "Amen!" And the twenty-four elders fell down and worshiped Him who lives forever and ever.

| Re: singing | | I sang your songs today, Linn,...through my tears. I was remembering singing to Shaun in Columbus througn my tears and how you said it sounds better that way. Maybe I should record a whole CD of singing through tears.
A friend of mine sent me some painting photos of Jesus in different scenes. In one portrait, he was behind a pulpit in the synagog and the crowd was looking on intently. Jesus seemed to be somewhat illuminated. I just sat there and looked at the picture and thought about how he never worried about anything. He went through life, continually in situations that were the ultimate limits of a man, and yet he didn't even know where he would be sleeping that night. He didn't have a job, he didn't have a home, he was like a nomad, yet he was on a specific course. He was so confident that God, His Father, was his source, that he could stand in front of the pharisees in the temple and speak his full heart at the risk of his life, with no place to call home, absolutely confident that, whatever he needed today, His Father would provide it. His only concern in every moment was doing the will of His Father. No worries. Oh! to live like that! Dian. |

Thou Shepherd of Israel, and mine, The joy and desire of my heart, For closer communion I pine, I long to reside where thou art: The pasture I languish to find, Where all, who their Shepherd obey Are fed, on thy bosom reclined, And screened from the heat of the day.
Ah! show me that happiest place, The place of thy people's abode, Where saints in an ecstasy gaze, And hang on a crucified God; Thy love for a sinner declare, Thy passion and death on the tree; My spirit to Calvary bear, To suffer and triumph with thee.
'Tis there, with the lambs of thy flock, There only, I covet to rest, To lie at the foot of the rock, Or rise to be hid in thy breast; 'Tis there I would always abide, And never a moment depart, Concealed in the cleft of thy side, Eternally held in thy heart.

From a hymn by M. Bairstow
Scottish Metrical Psalm 121
1 I to the hills will lift mine eyes, from whence doth come mine aid. 2 My safety cometh from the Lord, who heav'n and earth hath made.
3 Thy foot he'll not let slide, nor will he slumber that thee keeps. 4 Behold, he that keeps Israel, he slumbers not, nor sleeps.
5 The Lord thee keeps, the Lord thy shade on thy right hand doth stay: 6 The moon by night thee shall not smite, nor yet the sun by day.
7 The Lord shall keep thy soul; he shall preserve thee from all ill. 8 Henceforth thy going out and in God keep for ever will.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... grace and hope, fellowship and love, returning and rest
Just as I am, without one plea, But that Thy blood was shed for me, And that Thou bidst me come to Thee, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, and waiting not To rid my soul of one dark blot, To Thee whose blood can cleanse each spot, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, though tossed about With many a conflict, many a doubt, Fightings and fears within, without, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, poor, wretched, blind; Sight, riches, healing of the mind, Yea, all I need in Thee to find, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thou wilt receive, Wilt welcome, pardon, cleanse, relieve; Because Thy promise I believe, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, Thy love unknown Hath broken every barrier down; Now, to be Thine, yea, Thine alone, O Lamb of God, I come, I come.
Just as I am, of that free love The breadth, length, depth, and height to prove, Here for a season, then above, O Lamb of God, I come, I come!

Hebrews 10:9 - 25 Then said he, Lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. And every priest standeth daily ministering and offering oftentimes the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins: but this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; from henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, this is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; and their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.
Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin.
Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having an high priest over the house of God; let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
My God, is any hour so sweet From blush of morn to evening star, As that which calls me to Thy feet The hour of prayer? The hour of prayer?
Blest is that tranquil hour of morn, And blest that hour of solemn eve, When, on the wings of prayer upborne, The world I leave, The world I leave.
Then is my strength by Thee renewed; Then are my sins by Thee forgivn; Then dost Thou cheer my solitude With hopes of Heavn, With hopes of Heavn.
No words can tell what sweet relief There for my every want I find, What strength for warfare, balm for grief, What peace of mind, What peace of mind.
Hushed is each doubt, gone evry fear; My spirit seems in Heavn to stay; And een the penitential tear Is wiped away, Is wiped away.
Lord, till I reach yon blissful shore, No privilege so dear shall be As thus my inmost soul to pour In prayer to Thee. In prayer to Thee.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... showing me a dimension to spiritual reality which is new in my experience
Where shall my wondering soul begin? How shall I all to heaven aspire? A slave redeemed from death and sin, A brand plucked from eternal fire; How shall I equal triumphs raise And sing my great Deliverer's praise?
O, how shall I the goodness tell, Father, which Thou to me has showed? That I, a child of wrath and hell, I should be called a child of God! Should know, should feel my sins forgiven, Blest with this antepast of heaven.
And shall I slight my Father's love, Or basely fear His gifts to own? Unmindful of His favours prove? Shall I, the hallowed cross to shun, Refuse His righteousness to impart, By hiding it within my heart?
Come, O my guilty brethren, come, Groaning beneath your load of sin! His bleeding heart shall make you room, His open side shall take you in. He calls you now, invites you home; Come, O my guilty brethren, come!
For you the purple current flowed In pardon from His wounded side: Languished for you the eternal God, For you, the Prince of Glory died. Believe, and all your guilt's forgiven; Only believe, and yours is heaven.

John 19:30 - 37 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!" And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. Therefore, because it was the Preparation Day, that the bodies should not remain on the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), the Jews asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away. Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.
And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "Not one of His bones shall be broken." And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."
Numbers 21:7 - 9 Therefore the people came to Moses, and said, "We have sinned, for we have spoken against the LORD and against you; pray to the LORD that He take away the serpents from us." So Moses prayed for the people. Then the LORD said to Moses, "Make a fiery serpent, and set it on a pole; and it shall be that everyone who is bitten, when he looks at it, shall live." So Moses made a bronze serpent, and put it on a pole; and so it was, if a serpent had bitten anyone, when he looked at the bronze serpent, he lived.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... acceptance in Christ
The Lord has sent His only Son To preach the acceptable year, To make the joyful tidings known, Of vengeance and deliverance near.
To avenge them of their tyrant foe, From sin, and Satan's power to turn, The gift of righteousness bestow, And kindly comfort all that mourn.
To make them trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord below; Planted in honour of His grace, They here shall to perfection grow.
Ye all My glory shall declare, The chosen people of your God, Mine image and inscription bear When washed from all your sins in blood.
A royal race of priests divine, Ye all shall minister My grace; In prayers and freewill offerings join, And sacrificial songs of praise.
With Me is full redemption found, Ye more than justified shall be, Much more than sin shall grace abound, My people shall be all like Me.
Shall glory in My saving name; I will remove the foul disgrace, And swallow up their guilty shame, And all their sins with blood efface.
Their glory shall their shame exceed, When saved from all indwelling sin, Doubly redeemed and free indeed, Their conscience and their heart is clean.
They now, of double grace possessed, Shall all their souls in thanks employ, Received into My perfect rest, And crowned with everlasting joy.

Isaiah 61:1 - 8 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers.
