Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... His glorious victory of love towards man

O for a heart to praise my God,
A heart from sin set free,
A heart that always feels Thy blood
So freely shed for me.

A heart resigned, submissive, meek,
My great Redeemer’s throne,
Where only Christ is heard to speak,
Where Jesus reigns alone.

A humble, lowly, contrite, heart,
Believing, true and clean,
Which neither life nor death can part
From Christ who dwells within.

A heart in every thought renewed
And full of love divine,
Perfect and right and pure and good,
A copy, Lord, of Thine.

Thy tender heart is still the same,
And melts at human woe:
Jesus, for thee distressed I am,
I want Thy love to know.

My heart, Thou know’st, can never rest
Till Thou create my peace;
Till of mine Eden repossest,
From self, and sin, I cease.

Fruit of Thy gracious lips, on me
Bestow that peace unknown,
The hidden manna, and the tree
Of life, and the white stone.

Thy nature, gracious Lord, impart;
Come quickly from above;
Write Thy new name upon my heart,
Thy new, best name of Love.

1 Corinthians 14:23 - 25
Therefore if the whole church comes together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those who are uninformed or unbelievers, will they not say that you are out of your mind?

But if all prophesy, and an unbeliever or an uninformed person comes in, he is convinced by all, he is convicted by all. And thus the secrets of his heart are revealed; and so, falling down on his face, he will worship God and report that God is truly among you.

... answers to prayer and practical progress

Let earth and heaven agree,
Angels and men be joined,
To celebrate with me
The Saviour of mankind;
To adore the all-atoning Lamb,
And bless the sound of Jesu's name.

Jesus, transporting sound:
The joy of earth and heaven!
No other help is found,
No other name is given
By which we can salvation have
But Jesus came the world to save.

Jesus, harmonious name!
It charms the hosts above;
They evermore proclaim,
And wonder at His love,!
'Tis all their happiness to gaze,
'Tis heaven to see our Jesu's face.

His name the sinner hears,
And is from sin set free;
'Tis music in his ears,
'Tis life and victory;
New songs do now his lips empoly,
And dances his glad heart for joy.

Stung by the scorpion sin,
My poor expiring soul
The balmy sound drinks in,
And is at once made whole.
See there my Lord upon the tree!
I hear, I feel He died for me.

O unexampled Love,
O all-redeeming Grace!
How freely didst Thou move
To save a fallen race!
What shall I do to made it known
What Thou for all mankind hast done?

O for a trumpet voice
On all the world to call,
To bid their hearts rejoice
In Him who died for all!
For all my Lord was crucified;
For all, for all my Saviour died.

1 Corinthians 14:26
How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation.

Let all things be done for edification.

... His refreshings to my soul and spirit, by His Spirit

With harps and with viols, there stands a great throng
In the presence of Jesus, and sing this new song:

Refrain
Unto Him Who hath loved us and washed us from sin,
Unto Him be the glory forever, Amen.

All these once were sinners, defiled in His sight,
Now arrayed in pure garments in praise they unite:

Refrain

He maketh the rebel a priest and a king,
He hath bought us and taught us this new song to sing:

Refrain

How helpless and hopeless we sinners had been,
If He never had loved us till cleansed from our sin:

Refrain

Aloud in His praises our voices shall ring,
So that others believing, this new song shall sing:

Refrain

1 Corinthians 14:27, 28
If anyone speaks in a tongue, let there be two or at the most three, in turn, and let one interpret.

But if there is no interpreter, let him keep silent in church, and let him speak to himself and to God.

 Re:

I am praising God for being with my family.
For the food I had. For the car I have. For my shoes. For my mom. I praise God he knows my every need. I praise God is Faithful when I am not.
In his love

... the ministry of reconciliation, through His death

At Your feet we fall, mighty risen Lord,
as we come before Your throne to worship You.
By Your Spirit’s power You now draw our hearts,
and we hear Your voice in triumph ringing clear:

Refrain
‘ I am He that liveth,
that liveth and was dead.
Behold I am alive
for evermore.’

There we see You stand, mighty risen Lord,
clothed in garments pure and holy, shining bright;
eyes of flashing fire, feet like burnished bronze,
and the sound of many waters is Your voice,

Refrain

Like the shining sun in its noon-day strength,
we now see the glory of Your wondrous face:
once that face was marred, but now You’re glorified;
and Your words, like a two-edged sword have mighty power.

Refrain

1 Corinthians 14:29 - 33
Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.

But if anything is revealed to another who sits by, let the first keep silent.

For you can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all may be encouraged.

And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in all the churches of the saints.

... His strength, dependability and wisdom, and the relief that comes through trusting Him

The Lord is King! lift up thy voice,
O earth; and all ye heav’ns, rejoice!
From world to world the joy shall ring,
“The Lord omnipotent is King.”

The Lord is King! who then shall dare
Resist His will, distrust His care,
Or murmur at His wise decrees,
Or doubt His royal promises?

The Lord is King! Child of the dust,
The Judge of all the earth is just;
Holy and true are all His ways;
Let every creature speak His praise.

O when His wisdom can mistake,
His might decay, His love forsake,
Then may His children cease to sing,
“The Lord omnipotent is King!”

Alike pervaded by His eye,
All parts of His dominion lie;
This world of ours, and worlds unseen,
And thin the boundary between.

He reigns! ye saints, exalt your strains;
Your God is King, your Father reigns;
And He is at the Father’s side,
The Man of love, the Crucified.

Come, make your wants, your burdens known;
He will present them at the throne;
And angel bands are waiting there
His messages of love to bear.

One Lord, one empire, all secures;
He reigns, and life and death are yours:
Through earth and Heav’n shall ring,
“The Lord omnipotent is King!”

1 Corinthians 14:34, 35
Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says.

And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

 Re: Praising God

I'm praising God for getting over the flu, and having been given strength to do my weekly post on my site. May He be praised!

 Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... the rest of faith

Spirit of faith, come down, reveal the things of God,
And make to us the Godhead known, and witness with the blood.
’Tis Thine the blood to apply and give us eyes to see,
Who did for every sinner die hath surely died for me.

No man can truly say that Jesus is the Lord,
Unless Thou take the veil away and breathe the living Word.
Then, only then, we feel our interest in His blood,
And cry with joy unspeakable, “Thou art my Lord, my God!”

I know my Saviour lives! He lives who died for me.
My inmost soul His voice receives, who died on yonder tree;
Set forth before my eyes, e'en now I see Him bleed
And hear His mortal groans and cries, while suff'ring in my stead.

O that the world might know the all atoning Lamb!
Spirit of faith, descend and show the virtue of His Name;
The grace which all may find, the saving power, impart,
And testify to all mankind, and speak in every heart.

Inspire the living faith (which whosoever receive,
The witness in themselves they have and consciously believe),
The faith that conquers all, and doth the mountain move,
And saves whoever on Jesus call, and perfects them in love.

1 Corinthians 14:36, 37
Or did the word of God come originally from you?

Or was it you only that it reached?

If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord.
