... that He ever persevered to save me from my lostness and ingrained sin

Alas! and did my Savior bleed
And did my Sovereign die?
Would He devote that sacred head
For such a worm as I?

Refrain
At the cross, at the cross where I first saw the light,
And the burden of my heart rolled away,
It was there by faith I received my sight,
And now I am happy all the day!

Thy body slain, sweet Jesus, Thine—
And bathed in its own blood—
While the firm mark of wrath divine,
His Soul in anguish stood.

Refrain

Was it for crimes that I had done
He groaned upon the tree?
Amazing pity! Grace unknown
And love beyond degree!

Refrain

Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut his glories in,
When Christ, the mighty Maker died,
For man the creature’s sin.

Refrain

Thus might I hide my blushing face
While His dear cross appears,
Dissolve my heart in thankfulness,
And melt my eyes to tears.

Refrain

But drops of grief can ne’er repay
The debt of love I owe:
Here, Lord, I give my self away
’Tis all that I can do.

Refrain

1 Corinthians 13:13
And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

1 Corinthians 14:1
Pursue love, and desire spiritual gifts, but especially that you may prophesy.

... for the absolute privelege, totally undeserved, to be able to approach the Throne of Grace and submit our supplications and petitions to our God, with whom nothing is impossible.

Thank you, Heavenly Father, for hearing our prayers and considering them so precious as to keep them in golden bowls full of incense (Revelation 5:8). You are so good and so merciful. What an amazing God we serve.

... again for His perseverance with my denseness and stubbornness in years past, and a new heart now

My God, I am Thine, what a comfort divine,
What a blessing to know that my Jesus is mine!
In the heavenly Lamb thrice happy I am,
And my heart it doth dance at the sound of His Name.

True pleasures abound in the rapturous sound;
And whoever hath found it hath paradise found:
My Jesus to know, and feel His blood flow,
’Tis life everlasting, ’tis Heaven below.

Yet onward I haste to the heavenly feast:
That, that is the fulness; but this is the taste!
And this I shall prove, till with joy I remove
To the heaven of heavens in Jesus’ love.

1 Corinthians 14:2, 3
For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.

But he who prophesies speaks edification and exhortation and comfort to men.

... bringing another new Christian friend into my life with whom I have much in common, spiritually. Thank you, Jesus, for bringing so many of your children across my path in such a short time - may I be a blessing to them by the power of Your grace and love and may I minister to them as they have ministered to me.

... continual blessings and practical progress, the life of Christ within

Jesus, my strength and righteousness,
My Saviour, and my King,
Triumphantly Thy name I bless,
Thy conqering name I sing.
Thou Lord, hast magnified Thy name,
Thou hast maintained Thy cause,
And I enjoy the glorious shame
The scandal of Thy cross.

This is the saving power of God:
Whoe'er this word receive,
Feel all the effects of Jesu's blood,
And sensibly believe;
Saved from the guilt and power of sin
By instantaneous grace,
Thy trust to have Thy life brought in,
And always see Thy face.

The pure in heart Thy face shall see
Before they hence remove,
Redeemed from all iniquity,
And perfected in love.
This is the great salvation! This
The prize at which we aim,
The end of faith, the hidden bliss,
The new, mysterious name.

The name inscribed in the white stone,
The unbeginning Word,
The mystery so long unknown,
The secret of the Lord.
The living bread sent down from heaven,
The saints' and angels' food,
The immortal see, the little leaven,
The effluence of God!

The tree of life, that blooms and grows
In the midst of paradise,
The pure and living stream, the flows
Back to its native skies:
The Spirit's law, the covenant seal,
The eternal righteousness,
The glorious joy unspeakable,
The unutterable peace!

The treasure in the gospel-field,
The wisdom from above,
Hid from the wise, to babes revealed,
The precious pearl of love:
The mystic power of godliness,
The end of death and sin,
The antepast of heavenly bliss,
The kindgom fixed within.

The Morning Star, that glittering bright,
Shines to the perfect day,
The Sun of Righteousness - the Light,
The Life, the Truth, the Way:
The image of of the living God,
His nature and His mind,
Himself He hath on us bestowed,
And all in Christ we find.

1 Corinthians 14:4, 5
He who speaks in a tongue edifies himself, but he who prophesies edifies the church.

I wish you all spoke with tongues, but even more that you prophesied; for he who prophesies is greater than he who speaks with tongues, unless indeed he interprets, that the church may receive edification.

... and unexpected opportunity to build a deeper understanding with a Hindu, who I believe one day will become a brother in Christ

Ride on, ride on, in majesty!
Hark! all the tribes Hosanna cry;
O Savior meek, pursue Thy road
With palms and scattered garments strowed.

Ride on, ride on, in majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die!
O Christ! Thy triumph now begin
Over captive death and conquered sin.

Ride on, ride on, in majesty!
The wingèd squadrons of the sky
Look down with sad and wondering eyes
To see the approaching sacrifice.

Ride on, ride on, in majesty!
Thy last and fiercest strife is nigh;
The Father, on His sapphire throne,
Expects His own anointed Son.

Ride on, ride on, in majesty!
In lowly pomp ride on to die;
Bow Thy meek head to mortal pain,
Then take, O God, Thy power, and reign.

1 Corinthians 14:6 - 9
But now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you unless I speak to you either by revelation, by knowledge, by prophesying, or by teaching?

Even things without life, whether flute or harp, when they make a sound, unless they make a distinction in the sounds, how will it be known what is piped or played?

For if the trumpet makes an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for battle?

So likewise you, unless you utter by the tongue words easy to understand, how will it be known what is spoken? For you will be speaking into the air.

 Re: Praising God

Today I'm praising God for a business idea I can operate out of my home, and according to the limits of my disability.

Isn't God just amazing? The idea came to mind some weeks ago, but I asked God to let me know about whether this was His will by keeping it coming back up in my mind. And it has, so with prayer, I am starting the first steps - the plans!

Please pray that this is the will of God for me, or that God should make it plain to drop it.

Thank you all,
