Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... the encouragements of face-to-face fellowship

Jesus shall reign where’er the sun
Does his successive journeys run;
His kingdom stretch from shore to shore,
Till moons shall wax and wane no more.

To Him shall endless prayer be made,
And praises throng to crown His head;
His Name like sweet perfume shall rise
With every morning sacrifice.

People and realms of every tongue
Dwell on His love with sweetest song;
And infant voices shall proclaim
Their early blessings on His Name.

Blessings abound wherever He reigns;
The prisoner leaps to lose his chains;
The weary find eternal rest,
And all the sons of want are blessed.

Where He displays His healing power,
Death and the curse are known no more:
In Him the tribes of Adam boast
More blessings than their father lost.

Let every creature rise and bring
Peculiar honors to our King;
Angels descend with songs again,
And earth repeat the loud amen!

1 Corinthians 11:11, 12
Nevertheless, neither is man independent of woman, nor woman independent of man, in the Lord. For as woman came from man, even so man also comes through woman; but all things are from God.

 Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... the beauty of worship in the Spirit

To Christ, the Prince of peace,
And Son of God most high,
The Father of the world to come,
We lift our joyful cry.

Deep in His heart for us
The wound of love He bore,
That love which He enkindles still
In hearts that Him adore.

O Jesu, Victim blest,
What else but love divine
Could Thee constrain to open thus
That sacred heart of Thine?

O wondrous Fount of love,
O Well of waters free,
O heavenly Flame, refining Fire,
O burning Charity!

Hide us in Thy dear heart,
Jesu, our Savior blest,
So shall we find Thy plenteous grace
And Heav’n’s eternal rest.

1 Corinthians 11; 13 - 16
Judge among yourselves. Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered?

Does not even nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a dishonor to him?

But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her; for her hair is given to her for a covering.

But if anyone seems to be contentious, we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.

 Re: Today, I'm praising Gof for ...

... answers to another's prayers for a situation I'm in. Amen! Thank you Lord!

There’s no greater Name than Jesus,
Name of Him who came to save us,
In that saving Name of Jesus
Every knee should bow.

Let everything that is ‘neath the ground,
Let everything in the world around,
Let everything that’s high o’er the sky
Bow at Jesus’ Name.

In our minds by faith professing,
In our hearts by inward blessing,
On our tongues by words confessing,
Jesus Christ is Lord!

1 Corinthians 11:17, 18
Now in giving these instructions I do not praise you, since you come together not for the better but for the worse.

For first of all, when you come together as a church, I hear that there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it.

 Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... His love to me shown in a very practical way, yesterday

You laid aside Your majesty,
Gave up everything for me,
Suffered at the hands of those You had created;

You took all my guilt and shame,
When You died and rose again;
Now today You reign in heaven and earth exalted.

I really want to worship You, my Lord,
You have won my heart and I am Yours
For ever and ever: I will love You.

You are the only one who died for me,
Gave Your life to set me free,
So I lift my voice to You in adoration.

1 Corinthians 11:19, 20
For there must also be factions among you, that those who are approved may be recognized among you.

Therefore when you come together in one place, it is not to eat the Lord's Supper.

 Re:

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not."

This was just now stirring upon my heart. To think that we should be called sons of God. To think that, we, can call God, which is such a small word with an infinite meaning, to think that we may say to Him

Father

My praise, my devotion, my worship is not meet for the promises of God that I'm met with in the Scripture.

My praise is inadaquate; at least may my thankfullness be constant.

I thank You God. I thank You.

1 Corinthians 11:21, 22
For in eating, each one takes his own supper ahead of others; and one is hungry and another is drunk.

What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in?

Or do you despise the church of God and shame those who have nothing?

What shall I say to you?

Shall I praise you in this? I do not praise you.

 Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... the temple into which I'm being builded

Alleluia! sing to Jesus! His the scepter, His the throne.
Alleluia! His the triumph, His the victory alone.
Hark! the songs of peaceful Zion thunder like a mighty flood.
Jesus out of every nation has redeemed us by His blood.

Alleluia! not as orphans are we left in sorrow now;
Alleluia! He is near us, faith believes, nor questions how;
Though the cloud from sight received Him when the forty days were o’er
Shall our hearts forget His promise, “I am with you evermore”?

Alleluia! bread of angels, Thou on earth our food, our stay;
Alleluia! here the sinful flee to Thee from day to day:
Intercessor, Friend of sinners, Earth’s Redeemer, plead for me,
Where the songs of all the sinless sweep across the crystal sea.

Alleluia! King eternal, Thee the Lord of lords we own;
Alleluia! born of Mary, Earth Thy footstool, Heav’n Thy throne:
Thou within the veil hast entered, robed in flesh our great High Priest;
Thou on earth both priest and victim in the Eucharistic feast.

1 Corinthians 11:23 - 26
For I received from the Lord that which I also delivered to you: that the Lord Jesus on the same night in which He was betrayed took bread; and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, "Take, eat; this is My body which is broken for you; do this in remembrance of Me."

In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death till He comes.

 Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... the miracle of the Body of Christ on earth and its ministry of mutual edification unto the increase of itself in love

Psalm 40 (Scottish Metrical)
To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.

I waited for the Lord my God,
and patiently did bear;
At length to me he did incline
my voice and cry to hear.

He took me from a fearful pit,
and from the miry clay,
And on a rock he set my feet,
establishing my way.

He put a new song in my mouth,
our God to magnify:
Many shall see it, and shall fear,
and on the Lord rely.

O blessed is the man whose trust
upon the Lord relies;
Respecting not the proud, nor such
as turn aside to lies.

O Lord my God, full many are
the wonders thou hast done;
Thy gracious thoughts to us-ward far
above all thoughts are gone:

In order none can reckon them
to thee: if them declare,
And speak of them I would, they more
than can be number’d are.

No sacrifice nor offering
didst thou at all desire;
Mine ears thou bor’d: sin-off ‘ring thou
and burnt didst not require:

Then to the Lord these were my words,
I come, behold and see;
Within the volume of the book
it written is of me:

To do thy will I take delight,
O thou my God that art;
Yea, that most holy law of thine
I have within my heart.

Within the congregation great
I righteousness did preach:
Lo, thou dost know, O Lord, that I
refrained not my speech.

I never did within my heart
conceal thy righteousness;
I thy salvation have declar’d,
and shown thy faithfulness:

Thy kindness, which most loving is,
concealed have not I,
Nor from the congregation great
have hid thy verity.

Thy tender mercies, Lord, from me
O do thou not restrain;
Thy loving-kindness, and thy truth,
let them me still maintain.

For ills past reck’ning compass me,
and mine iniquities
Such hold upon me taken have,
I cannot lift mine eyes:

They more than hairs are on mine head,
thence is my heart dismay’d.
Be pleased, Lord, to rescue me;
Lord, hasten to mine aid.

Sham’d and confounded be they all
that seek my soul to kill;
Yea, let them backward driven be,
and sham’d, that wish me ill.

For a reward of this their shame
confounded let them be.
That in this manner scoffing say,
Aha, aha! to me.

In thee let all be glad, and joy,
who seeking thee abide;
Who thy salvation love, say still,
The Lord be magnify’d.

I’m poor and needy, yet the Lord
of me a care doth take:
Thou art my help and saviour,
my God, no tarrying make.

1 Corinthians 11:27 - 34
Therefore whoever eats this bread or drinks this cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of the body and blood of the Lord.

But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of the bread and drink of the cup. For he who eats and drinks in an unworthy manner eats and drinks judgment to himself, not discerning the Lord's body. For this reason many are weak and sick among you, and many sleep.

For if we would judge ourselves, we would not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened by the Lord, that we may not be condemned with the world.

Therefore, my brethren, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. But if anyone is hungry, let him eat at home, lest you come together for judgment.

And the rest I will set in order when I come.

 Re: Today, I'm praising God for ...

... His ministry to me today - to body, soul and spirit

Day by day, and with each passing moment,
Strength I find, to meet my trials here;
Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
He Whose heart is kind beyond all measure
Gives unto each day what He deems best—
Lovingly, its part of pain and pleasure,
Mingling toil with peace and rest.

Every day, the Lord Himself is near me
With a special mercy for each hour;
All my cares He fain would bear, and cheer me,
He Whose Name is Counselor and Power;
The protection of His child and treasure
Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
“As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
This the pledge to me He made.

Help me then in every tribulation
So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation
Offered me within Thy holy Word.
Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
E'er to take, as from a father’s hand,
One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
Till I reach the promised land.

... knowing I am in a Body of Christ's people, even though I don't see most of you most of the time... Comforted by the hearts who cry out for reality and God

Thou dost seek a bride all pure and holy,
Those who now belong to thee alone,
Those who give thee all their hearts' affection,
Of thyself a part, bone of thy bone.

Refrain
Lord, we answer to thy heart's deep longing,
"Even so, come quickly Lord," we say,
In our hearts we have the blessed answer
"Rise my love, my fair one, come away".

Drawn from every kindred, tribe and nation,
By thy Holy Spirit's mighty power,
Finding rest in thee, God's great Salvation,
Waits thy bride for thine appointed hour.

Refrain

Sharing with thee in this world's rejection,
Putting on thy death to gain a crown,
By thy blood and word we're overcomers,
With thee in thy throne we shall sit down.

1 Corinthians 12:2 - 4
You know that you were Gentiles, carried away to these dumb idols, however you were led.

Therefore I make known to you that no one speaking by the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed, and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit.

There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.
