| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... the love of brethren in Christ
Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side. Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain. Leave to thy God to order and provide; In every change, He faithful will remain. Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake To guide the future, as He has the past. Thy hope, thy confidence let nothing shake; All now mysterious shall be bright at last. Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know His voice Who ruled them while He dwelt below.
Be still, my soul: when dearest friends depart, And all is darkened in the vale of tears, Then shalt thou better know His love, His heart, Who comes to soothe thy sorrow and thy fears. Be still, my soul: thy Jesus can repay From His own fullness all He takes away.
Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on When we shall be forever with the Lord. When disappointment, grief and fear are gone, Sorrow forgot, loves purest joys restored. Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past All safe and blessèd we shall meet at last.
Be still, my soul: begin the song of praise On earth, believing, to Thy Lord on high; Acknowledge Him in all thy words and ways, So shall He view thee with a well pleased eye. Be still, my soul: the Sun of life divine Through passing clouds shall but more brightly shine.

I Corinthians 1:9 - 18 God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. For it has been declared to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe's household, that there are contentions among you. Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," or "I am of Apollos," or "I am of Cephas," or "I am of Christ." Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?
I thank God that I baptized none of you except Crispus and Gaius, lest anyone should say that I had baptized in my own name. Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas. Besides, I do not know whether I baptized any other. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Isaiah 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
dorcas, Thank you for posting this hymn - "Be Still My Soul" is one of my favorites. |

| Re: | | I praise the lord for giving me the strength to face another day.
Psalm 98 A psalm. 1 Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. 2 The LORD has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3 He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music;
5 make music to the LORD with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing,
6 with trumpets and the blast of the ram's horn shout for joy before the LORD, the King.
7 Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands, Let the mountains sing together for joy; 9 let them sing before the LORD, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... more promptings and fellowship in the Spirit - the life of God
By the cross of Jesus standing, Love our straitened souls expanding, Taste we now the peace and grace! Health from yonder tree is flowing, Heavnly light is on it glowing, From the blessed Sufferers face.
Here is pardons pledge and token, Guilts strong chain forever broken, Righteous peace securely made; Brightens now the brow once shaded, Freshens now the face once faded, Peace with God now makes us glad.
All the love of God is yonder, Love above all thought and wonder, Perfect love that casts out fear! Strength, like dew, is here distilling, Glorious life our souls is filling, Life eternal, only here!
Here the living water welleth; Here the Rock, now smitten, telleth Of salvation freely givn: This the fount of love and pity, This the pathway to the city, This the very gate of Heavn.

1 Corinthians 1:17 - 24 For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel, not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of no effect.
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, And bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
Where is the wise?
Where is the scribe?
Where is the disputer of this age?
Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

There is a Name I love to hear, I love to sing its worth, It sounds like music in my ear, The sweetest Name on earth.
Refrain O how I love Jesus, O how I love Jesus, O how I love Jesus, Because He first loved me!
He breaks the power of canceled sin, He sets the prisoner free; His blood can make the foulest clean, His blood availed for me.
Refrain
He speaks, and, listening to His voice, New life the dead receive, The mournful, broken hearts rejoice, The humble poor believe.
Refrain
Hear Him, ye deaf; His praise, ye dumb, Your loosened tongues employ; Ye blind, behold your Savior come, And leap, ye lame, for joy.
Refrain

1 Corinthians 1:25 - 31 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
For you see your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty; and the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are, that no flesh should glory in His presence.
But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God -- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption -- that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the LORD."

Faithful One, so unchanging
Ageless One, You're my rock of peace,
Lord of all, I depend on You.
I call out to You, again and again,
I call out to You, again and again.
You are my Rock in times of trouble, You lift me up when I fall down. All through the storm, Your love is the anchor; My hope is in You alone.

1 Corinthians 2:1 - 5 And I, brethren, when I came to you, did not come with excellence of speech or of wisdom declaring to you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified.
I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for .... | | ... God's eternal purposes, worked out in our lives.... such a mystery
All hail King Jesus!
All hail Immanuel!
King of kings,
Lord of lords,
Bright morning Star!
Every day you give me breath
I'll sing your praises
And I will reign with You throughout eternity.

I Corinthians 2:6 - 11 However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
But as it is written: "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him." But God has revealed to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for... | | ... the quiet whisper of the Spirit to my understanding
Praise, my soul, the King of Heaven; To His feet thy tribute bring. Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven, Evermore His praises sing: Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise the everlasting King.
Praise Him for His grace and favor To our fathers in distress. Praise Him still the same as ever, Slow to chide, and swift to bless. Alleluia! Alleluia! Glorious in His faithfulness.
Fatherlike He tends and spares us; Well our feeble frame He knows. In His hands He gently bears us, Rescues us from all our foes. Alleluia! Alleluia! Widely yet His mercy flows.
Frail as summers flower we flourish, Blows the wind and it is gone; But while mortals rise and perish Our God lives unchanging on, Praise Him, Praise Him, Hallelujah Praise the High Eternal One!
Angels, help us to adore Him; Ye behold Him face to face; Sun and moon, bow down before Him, Dwellers all in time and space. Alleluia! Alleluia! Praise with us the God of grace.

I Corinthians 2:12 - 16 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
These things we also speak, not in words which man's wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. For "who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?" But we have the mind of Christ.

By cool Siloams shady rill How fair the lily grows! How sweet the breath, beneath the hill, Of Sharons dewy rose!
Lo! such the child whose early feet The paths of peace have trod, Whose secret heart, with influence sweet, Is upward drawn to God.
By cool Siloams shady rill The lily must decay; The rose that blooms beneath the hill Must shortly fade away.
And soon, too soon, the wintry hour Of mans maturer age Will shake the soul with sorrows power And stormy passions rage.
O Thou Whose infant feet were found Within Thy Fathers shrine, Whose years with changeless virtue crowned, Were all alike divine.
Dependent on Thy bounteous breath, We seek Thy grace alone, In childhood, manhood, age, and death To keep us still Thine own.

1 Corinthians 3:1 - 3 And I, brethren, could not speak to you as to spiritual people but as to carnal, as to babes in Christ. I fed you with milk and not with solid food; for until now you were not able to receive it, and even now you are still not able; for you are still carnal. For where there are envy, strife, and divisions among you, are you not carnal and behaving like mere men?

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for.... | | ...for the multitude of His tendermercies towards me, bestowed upon one so unworthy of them all.
I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
God has been so patient with me. Surely His lovingkindness must go on and on and on....how gracious is He!
He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
Where would I be if God had not reached down into my dark world. Mountains of sin closed me in on every side and my soul was like a beast in a desert place, crying out and alone.
I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation...
Withhold not thou thy tender mercies from me, O Lord: let thy lovingkindness and thy truth continually preserve me.
I need His mercies everyday and every hour and moment of my life.
Without God,
I'm nothing.
Thank You LORD _________________ Christopher Joel Dandrow
