| Re: Today I'm praising God for... | | Actually, SermonIndex. What a blessing to have found this site. The internet is loud, and dark, and this site feels like a beacon of light in amongst all the scary, swirly blackness.
I thank Him for introducing me to a couple of the people here who reflect His love very much.
Also, I thank Him for vanilla pods. What a beautiful thing to have created for us. He's Awesome! _________________ Anna

2 Cor 4:2 But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.
My soul is now united To Christ the Living Vine; His grace I long have slighted, But now I know He's mine; I was to God a stranger Till Jesus took me in; He freed my soul from danger, And pardon'd all my sin.
Refrain Christ is my Salvation - What can I covet more? I fear no condemnation, My Father's wrath is o'er.
Soon as my all I ventured On the atoning Blood, The Holy Spirit entered, And I was born of God; Still Christ is my Salvation - What can I covet more? I fear no condemnation, My Father's wrath is o'er.
Refrain
By floods and flames surrounded, I now my way pursue; Nor shall I be confounded, With glory in my view; I taste a heavenly pleasure, And need not fear a frown; Christ is my joy and treasure, My glory and my crown.
Refrain
O, saints, be not faint-hearted, Though least among the flock; From Christ you'll ne'er be parted, While built upon the Rock; Let's speed our pace to glory, We soon shall meet above, And tell the wondrous story Of His redeeming love.

Christ is the worlds Redeemer, The lover of the pure, The Fount of heavenly wisdom, Our trust and hope secure; The Armor of His soldiers, The Lord of earth and sky; Our Health while we are living, Our Life when we shall die.
Christ hath our host surrounded With clouds of martyrs bright, Who wave their palms in triumph, And fire us for the fight. Christ the red cross ascended, To save a world undone, And, suffering for the sinful, Our full redemption won.
All glory to the Father, The unbegotten One; All honor be to Jesus, His sole begotten Son; And to the Holy Spirit The perfect Trinity. Let all the worlds give answer, Amenso let it be.

Ephesians 4:17 - 24 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Lord, that you should no longer walk as the rest of the Gentiles walk, in the futility of their mind, having their understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart; who, being past feeling, have given themselves over to lewdness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.
But you have not so learned Christ, if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus: that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.
Glory be to God the Father, Glory be to God the Son, Glory be to God the Spirit, Great Jehovah, Three in One! Glory, glory, glory, glory, While eternal ages run!
Glory be to Him Who loved us, Washed us from each spot and stain! Glory be to Him Who bought us, Made us kings with Him to reign! Glory, glory, glory, glory, To the Lamb that once was slain!
Glory to the King of angels, Glory to the churchs King, Glory to the King of nations! Heaven and earth, your praises bring; Glory, glory, glory, glory, To the King of glory bring!
Glory, blessing, praise eternal! Thus the choir of angels sings; Honor, riches, power, dominion! Thus its praise creation brings; Glory, glory, glory, glory, Glory to the King of kings!

The King of love my Shepherd is, Whose goodness faileth never, I nothing lack if I am His And He is mine forever.
Where streams of living water flow My ransomed soul He leadeth, And where the verdant pastures grow, With food celestial feedeth.
Perverse and foolish oft I strayed, But yet in love He sought me, And on His shoulder gently laid, And home, rejoicing, brought me.
In deaths dark vale I fear no ill With Thee, dear Lord, beside me; Thy rod and staff my comfort still, Thy cross before to guide me.
Thou spreadst a table in my sight; Thy unction grace bestoweth; And O what transport of delight From Thy pure chalice floweth!
And so through all the length of days Thy goodness faileth never; Good Shepherd, may I sing Thy praise Within Thy house forever.

Ephesians 4:25 - 32 Therefore, putting away lying, "Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor," for we are members of one another.
"Be angry, and do not sin": do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.
Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with [his] hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ forgave you.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... continuing practical progress, and knowing the Lord is in control
Ephesians 5:1 - 4 Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
But fornication and all uncleanness or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as is fitting for saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
Soldiers of Christ, arise, And put your armor on, Strong in the strength which God supplies, Through His eternal Son; Strong in the Lord of Hosts, And in His mighty pow'r, Who in the strength of Jesus trusts Is more than conqueror.
Stand then in His great might, With all His strength endued; And take, to arm you for the fight, The panoply of God, That, having all things done, And all your conflicts past, Ye may o'ercome through Christ alone, And stand complete at last.
Leave no unguarded place, No weakness of the soul, Take every virtue, every grace, And fortify the whole. To keep your armor bright Attend with constant care, Still walking in your Captain's sight And watching unto prayer.
Pray, without ceasing pray, Your Captain gives the word; His summons cheerfully obey, And call upon the Lord: To God your every want In instant prayer display; Pray always; pray, and never faint; Pray, without ceasing pray.
From strength to strength go on; Wrestle, and fight, and pray; Tread all the powers of darkness down, And win the well-fought day: Still let the Spirit cry In all His soldiers, "Come!" Till Christ the Lord descend from high, And take the conquerors home.

I thank Him for the discernment He has given me - His call to keep my eyes solely on Him, and take them off other Christians.
Also for the ability to crochet :o) _________________ Anna

His grace in using me to smile at people in the streets and they way it makes them smile back. It's *lovely* and all engineered by Him.
Krispy Kreme doughnuts which have just arrived in England. Crikey, they're tasty.
I agree with Laura, too ('ello, lovely lady!) the leaves falling from trees and landing in heaps which we can kick through and play in while our noses go numb. His grace in allowing us that joy every single year... He's *so* glorious!

More about Jesus would I know, More of His grace to others show; More of His saving fullness see, More of His love Who died for me.
Refrain More, more about Jesus, More, more about Jesus; More of His saving fullness see, More of His love Who died for me.
More about Jesus let me learn, More of His holy will discern; Spirit of God, my teacher be, Showing the things of Christ to me.
Refrain
More about Jesus; in His Word, Holding communion with my Lord; Hearing His voice in every line, Making each faithful saying mine.
Refrain
More about Jesus; on His throne, Riches in glory all His own; More of His kingdoms sure increase; More of His coming, Prince of Peace.

Ephesians 5:5 - 10 For this you know, that no fornicator, unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God.
Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Therefore do not be partakers with them. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.
Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, righteousness, and truth), finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.
