(KJV) John 15:26, 27 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: and ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning.
John 16:1 - 4 These things have I spoken unto you, that ye should not be offended. They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the time cometh, that whosoever killeth you will think that he doeth God service. And these things will they do unto you, because they have not known the Father, nor me.
But these things have I told you, that when the time shall come, ye may remember that I told you of them. And these things I said not unto you at the beginning, because I was with you.
O spread the tidings round, wherever man is found, Wherever human hearts and human woes abound; Let evry Christian tongue proclaim the joyful sound: The Comforter has come!
Refrain
The Comforter has come, the Comforter has come! The Holy Ghost from Heavn, the Fathers promise givn; O spread the tidings round, wherever man is found The Comforter has come!
Refrain
Lo, the great King of kings, with healing in His wings, To evry captive soul a full deliverance brings; And through the vacant cells the song of triumph rings; The Comforter has come!
Refrain
O boundless love divine! How shall this tongue of mine To wondring mortals tell the matchless grace divine That I, a child of hell, should in His image shine! The Comforter has come!

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... speaking to me from His word, again, and, keeping me in peace
(KJV) John 16:5 - 12 But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou? But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.
Nevertheless I tell you the truth; it is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: of sin, because they believe not on me; of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.
I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now.
Come down, O love divine, seek Thou this soul of mine, And visit it with Thine own ardor glowing. O Comforter, draw near, within my heart appear, And kindle it, Thy holy flame bestowing.
O let it freely burn, til earthly passions turn To dust and ashes in its heat consuming; And let Thy glorious light shine ever on my sight, And clothe me round, the while my path illuming.
Let holy charity mine outward vesture be, And lowliness become mine inner clothing; True lowliness of heart, which takes the humbler part, And oer its own shortcomings weeps with loathing.
And so the yearning strong, with which the soul will long, Shall far outpass the power of human telling; For none can guess its grace, till he become the place Wherein the Holy Spirit makes His dwelling.

| Re: 2 weeks ago | | A friend of mine, a Christian grandfather, is cautiously backing his farm tractor out of his utility building. He does not know his precious toddler grandaughter is playing out of view under the large rear tire...
The tire rolls slowly over the child across a floor of solid poured concrete as granpa looks down in horror.
Her father runs wildly out of the house to the granfather who is carrying the little one's body in his trembling arms.
She is life-flighted to the hospital...there are tests and x-rays taken. The report...
Not a single bone in her body was broken.
2 days later Granpa hears her tiny voice on his telephone. She is home now. She says "Hi papa. I'm fine. How are you?" And, my friend who is not given to emotion, is on his knees sobbing and broken, his heart overflowing with gratitude and love.
Now he tells everyone he meets, from the air condition repairman to the postman about the love of God demonstrated to him.
Perfect love makes us forget our fears! God is truly merciful and kind to us.

(KJV) John 16:13 - 22 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew unto you. All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew unto you.
A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me, because I go to the Father. Then said some of his disciples among themselves, What is this that he saith unto us, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me: and, Because I go to the Father? They said therefore, What is this that he saith, A little while? we cannot tell what he saith.
Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.
A woman when she is in travail hath sorrow, because her hour is come: but as soon as she is delivered of the child, she remembereth no more the anguish, for joy that a man is born into the world. And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.
Lord, enthroned in heavenly splendor, First begotten from the dead, You alone, our strong Defender, Now lift up Your peoples head. Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus, true and living Bread! Alleluia! Alleluia! Jesus, true and living Bread!
Here our humblest homage pay we, Here in loving reverence bow; Here for faiths discernment pray we, Lest we fail to know You now. Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou art here, we ask not how. Alleluia! Alleluia! Thou art here, we ask not how.
Though the lowliest form doth veil Thee As of old in Bethlehem, Here as there Thine angels hail Thee, Branch and Flower of Jesses stem. Alleluia! Alleluia! We, in worship, join with them. Alleluia! Alleluia! We, in worship, join with them.
Paschal Lamb, Your offering finished Once for all when You were slain, In its fullness undiminished Shall forevermore remain. Alleluia! Alleluia! Cleansing souls from every stain. Alleluia! Alleluia! Cleansing souls from every stain.
Great High Priest of our profession, Through the veil Thou wentest in, By Thy mighty intercession, Grace and peace for us to win. Alleluia! Alleluia! Only sacrifice for sin. Alleluia! Alleluia! Only sacrifice for sin.
Life imparting heavenly Manna, Smitten Rock with streaming side, Heaven and earth with loud hosanna Worship You, the Lamb Who died. Alleluia! Alleluia! Risen, ascended, glorified. Alleluia! Alleluia! Risen, ascended, glorified.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... hot sunshine, strength, wisdom and the continuing 'reality check' He's putting me through.
(KJV) John 16:23 - 28 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give [it] you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.
At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God. I came forth from the Father, and am come into the world: again, I leave the world, and go to the Father.
Go, labor on: spend, and be spent, Thy joy to do the Fathers will: It is the way the Master went; Should not the servant tread it still?
Go, labor on! tis not for naught Thine earthly loss is heavenly gain; Men heed thee, love thee, praise thee not; The Master praises: what are men?
Go, labor on! enough, while here, If He shall praise thee, if He deign The willing heart to mark and cheer: No toil for Him shall be in vain.
Go, labor on while it is day: The worlds dark night is hastening on; Speed, speed thy work, cast sloth away; It is not thus that souls are won.
Men die in darkness at thy side, Without a hope to cheer the tomb; Take up the torch and wave it wide, The torch that lights times thickest gloom.
Toil on, faint not, keep watch and pray, Be wise the erring soul to win; Go forth into the worlds highway, Compel the wanderer to come in.
Toil on, and in thy toil rejoice! For toil comes rest, for exile home; Soon shalt thou hear the Bridegrooms voice, The midnight peal, Behold, I come!

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... the ministry of the Body, and being alive in Christ.
(KJV) John 16: 29 - 33 His disciples said unto him, Lo, now speakest thou plainly, and speakest no proverb. Now are we sure that thou knowest all things, and needest not that any man should ask thee: by this we believe that thou camest forth from God.
Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe? Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. John 17:1 - 3 These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
Stand up, stand up, for Jesus, Ye soldiers of the cross; Lift high his royal banner, It must not suffer loss: From victory unto victory His army shall he lead, Till every foe is vanquished And Christ is Lord indeed.
Stand up, stand up, for Jesus; The trumpet call obey; Forth to the mighty conflict In this his glorious day: Ye that are men now serve him Against unnumbered foes; Let courage rise with danger, And strength to strength oppose.
Stand up, stand up, for Jesus; Stand in his strength alone; The arm of flesh will fail you, Ye dare not trust your own: Put on the Gospel armor, And watching unto prayer, When duty calls, or danger, Be never wanting there.
Stand up, stand up, for Jesus; The strife will not be long: This day, the noise of battle; The next, the victor's song. To him that overcometh A crown of life shall be; He with the King of glory Shall reign eternally.
(Below is usually a separate hymn, but, it flows on, well...)
A life of overcoming, A life of ceaseless praise, Be this thy blessed portion Throughout the coming days. The victory was purchased On Calvrys cross for thee, Sin shall not have dominion, The Son hath made thee free.
And wouldst thou know the secret Of constant victory? Let in the Overcomer, And He will conquer thee! Thy broken spirit taken In sweet captivity, Shall glory in His triumph And share His victory.
Though all the path before thee The host of darkness fill, Look to thy Fathers promise, And claim the victory still. Faith sees the heavenly legions, Where doubt sees naught but foes, And through the very conflict Her life the stronger grows.
More stern will grow the conflict As nears our Kings return, And they alone can face it Who this great lesson learn:- That from them God asks nothing But to unlatch the door Admitting Him who through them, Will conquer evermore.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... His word to me today, and fresh courage to lay hold of it.
(KJV) John 17:4 - 11 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do. And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.
Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
Glorious things of thee are spoken, Zion, city of our God! He, Whose Word cannot be broken, Formed thee for His own abode. On the Rock of Ages founded, What can shake thy sure repose? With salvations walls surrounded, Thou mayst smile at all thy foes.
See! the streams of living waters, Springing from eternal love; Well supply thy sons and daughters, And all fear of want remove: Who can faint while such a river Ever flows their thirst tassuage? Grace, which like the Lord, the Giver, Never fails from age to age.
Round each habitation hovering, See the cloud and fire appear! For a glory and a covring Showing that the Lord is near; Thus beneath this living banner - Light by night and shade by day - Safe they feed upon the manna, Which He gives them when they pray.
Blest inhabitants of Zion, Washed in the Redeemers blood! Jesus, Whom their souls rely on, Makes them kings and priests to God. Tis His love His people raises Over self to reign as kings, And as priests, His glorious praises, Each a fresh thank offering brings.
Savior, if of Zions city, I through grace a member am, Let the world deride or pity, I will glory in Thy Name. Fading is the worldlings pleasure, All his boasted pomp and show; Solid joys and lasting treasure None but Zions children know.

John 17:12 - 19 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

John 17:20 - 26 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee: but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me. And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them.

(KJV) John 18:(KJV) John 18:1 - 6 When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples. Judas then, having received a band [of men] and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, cometh thither with lanterns and torches and weapons.
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom seek ye? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Who would true valour see, Let Him come hither! One here will constant be, Come wind, come weather. Theres no discouragement Shall make him once relent His first avowed intent To be a pilgrim.
