| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... His ministry through the Body... for keeping my faith steady, and increasing my experience of His faithfulness.
(NKJV) Luke 23:44 - 56 Now it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. Then the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was torn in two. And when Jesus had cried out with a loud voice, He said, "Father, 'into Your hands I commit My spirit.' " Having said this, He breathed His last.
So when the centurion saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "Certainly this was a righteous Man!" And the whole crowd who came together to that sight, seeing what had been done, beat their breasts and returned. But all His acquaintances, and the women who followed Him from Galilee, stood at a distance, watching these things.
Now behold, there was a man named Joseph, a council member, a good and just man. He had not consented to their decision and deed. He was from Arimathea, a city of the Jews, who himself was also waiting for the kingdom of God. This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then he took it down, wrapped it in linen, and laid it in a tomb hewn out of the rock, where no one had ever lain before.
That day was the Preparation, and the Sabbath drew near. And the women who had come with Him from Galilee followed after, and they observed the tomb and how His body was laid. Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
How sweet and awesome is the place With Christ within the doors, While everlasting love displays The choicest of her stores. Here every bowel of our God With soft compassion rolls; Here peace and pardon bought with blood Is food for dying souls.
While all our hearts and all our songs Join to admire the feast, Each of us cries, with thankful tongue, "Lord, why was I a guest?"
Why was I made to hear Thy voice, And enter while there's room, When thousands make a wretched choice, And rather starve than come?
'Twas the same love that spread the feast That sweetly forced us in; Else we had still refused to taste, And perished in our sin.
Pity the nations, O our God, Constrain the earth to come; Send Thy victorious Word abroad, And bring the strangers home.
We long to see Thy churches full, That all the chosen race May, with one voice and heart and soul, Sing Thy redeeming grace.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... His never-failing supply of goodness and grace.... and for fellowship with Him in my travelling and in my resting, and for fellowship in the Spirit with the saints.
(NKJV) Luke 24 21 "But we were hoping that it was He who was going to redeem Israel. Indeed, besides all this, today is the third day since these things happened. 22 "Yes, and certain women of our company, who arrived at the tomb early, astonished us. 23 "When they did not find His body, they came saying that they had also seen a vision of angels who said He was alive. 24 "And certain of those who were with us went to the tomb and found it just as the women had said; but Him they did not see." 25 Then He said to them, "O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken! 26 "Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into His glory?" 27 And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. 28 Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone farther. 29 But they constrained Him, saying, "Abide with us, for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent." And He went in to stay with them. 30 Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him; and He vanished from their sight. 32 And they said to one another, "Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us?" 33 So they rose up that very hour and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34 saying, "The Lord is risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!" 35 And they told about the things [that had happened] on the road, and how He was known to them in the breaking of bread. 36 Now as they said these things, Jesus Himself stood in the midst of them, and said to them, "Peace to you."
His love knows no limits; His grace knows no end; His power has no boundary known unto man; And out of His infinite riches in Jesus He giveth, and giveth and giveth again.

| Re: | | For being Him. He could have been a far lesser God and still would deserve our worship and service and devotion. Even if he was only right and just 90% of the time, that far out weighs our leaders and judges and the best of men. But He is wise and just all the time.
Praise God. |

(KJV) John 1:1 - 3 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee; Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!
Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee, Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; Cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Who was, and is, and evermore shall be.
Holy, holy, holy! though the darkness hide Thee, Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see; Only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee, Perfect in power, in love, and purity.
Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy Name, in earth, and sky, and sea; Holy, holy, holy; merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessèd Trinity!

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... peace, as He continues to look after all the details of my days.
(NKJV) Exodus 33:22 "So it shall be, while My glory passes by, that I will put you in the cleft of the rock, and will cover you with My hand while I pass by.
Peace, perfect peace, in this dark world of sin? The blood of Jesus whispers peace within.
Peace, perfect peace, by thronging duties pressed? To do the will of Jesus, this is rest.
Peace, perfect peace, with sorrows surging round? On Jesus bosom naught but calm is found.
Peace, perfect peace, with loved ones far away? In Jesus keeping we are safe, and they.
Peace, perfect peace, our future all unknown? Jesus we know, and He is on the throne.
Peace, perfect peace, death shadowing us and ours? Jesus has vanquished death and all its powers.
It is enough: earths struggles soon shall cease, And Jesus call us to Heavens perfect peace.

As the deer pants for the water, so my soul longs after You. You alone are my hearts desire and I long to worship You. You alone are my strength, my shield, to You alone may my spirit yield. You alone are my hearts desire and I long to worship You. I want You more than gold or silver, only You can satisfy. You alone are the real joy-giver and the apple of my eye. You alone....
Youre my Friend and You are my Brother, even though You are a King. I love You more than any other, so much more than anything. You alone....

| Re: | | Hia Dorcas, Just wanted to tell you that this post really jumped out at me tonite in a real way. That was my favorite verse for many years ... Psa 42:1 As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
that song is beautiful and most especially the verse at the bottom really popped at me ... I got 'hit' with it. Confirming that HE is there to give us the right verse or verses for our particular day and hardships.
God Bless you and thank you for allowing yourself to be led to post this for today. Annie |

| Re: Today (Wednesday) I'm praising God for ... | | ... travelling mercies - :-) - a straightforward and simple seven-part journey, during which others raised the topic of the Bible, prophecy, obedience, faith - and I mentioned the verses which bring balance - and prayed for health for two people.
Psalm 18:33 He maketh my feet like hinds' [feet], and setteth me upon my high places.
(Young) Habakkuk 3:19 Jehovah the Lord [is] my strength, And He doth make my feet like hinds, And on my high-places causeth me to tread.
You, O Lord, rich in mercy, because of Your great love... You, O Lord, so loved us, even when we were dead in our sin... You made us alive Together with Christ! And raised us up Together with Him And made us sit With Him in heavenly places! And raised us up Together with Christ, And made us sit with Him in heavenly places... In Christ.
Amen! 8-)

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... my time in the US.... which is now completely over... He has been very, very good to me... :-D
The day Thou gavest, Lord, is ended, The darkness falls at Thy behest; To Thee our morning hymns ascended, Thy praise shall sanctify our rest.
We thank Thee that Thy church, unsleeping, While earth rolls onward into light, Through all the world her watch is keeping, And rests not now by day or night.
As oer each continent and island The dawn leads on another day, The voice of prayer is never silent, Nor dies the strain of praise away.
The sun that bids us rest is waking Our brethren neath the western sky, And hour by hour fresh lips are making Thy wondrous doings heard on high.
So be it, Lord; Thy throne shall never, Like earths proud empires, pass away: Thy kingdom stands, and grows forever, Till all Thy creatures own Thy sway.
