| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... He's answered - I can tell He's answered - prayers I made long ago, which I knew would take a while to come through in my experience.... and I'm just beginning to realise my patience has been rewarded by His utter faithfulness. Amen.
Wash me, O Lamb of God, Wash me from sin! By Thine atoning blood, Oh, make me clean! Purge me from eve'ry stain, Let me Thine image gain, In love and mercy reign O'er all within.
Wash me, O Lamb of God, Wash me from sin! I long to be like Thee -- All pure within. Now let the crimson tide, Shed from Thy wounded side, Be to my heart applied, And make me clean.
Wash me, O Lamb of God, Wash me from sin! I will not, cannot, rest Till pure within. All human skill is vain, But Thou canst cleanse each stain Till not a spot remain -- Made wholly clean.
Wash me, O Lamb of God, Wash me from sin! By faith Thy cleansing blood Now makes me clean. So near art Thou to me, So sweet my rest in Thee -- Oh, blessed purity, Saved, saved from sin!
Wash me, O Lamb of God, Wash me from sin! Thou, while I trust in thee, Wilt keep me clean. Each day to Thee I bring Heart, life - yea, everything: Saved, while to Thee I cling, Saved from all sin!

(NKJV) Acts 7 51 "You stiff-necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears! You always resist the Holy Spirit; as your fathers so do you. 52 Which of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? And they killed those who foretold the coming of the Just One, of whom you now have become the betrayers and murderers, 53 who have received the law by the direction of angels and have not kept it."
54 When they heard these things they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed at him with their teeth. 55 But he, being full of the Holy Spirit, gazed into heaven and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, 56 and said, "Look! I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!"
57 Then they cried out with a loud voice, stopped their ears, and ran at him with one accord; 58 and they cast him out of the city and stoned him. And the witnesses laid down their clothes at the feet of a young man named Saul. 59 And they stoned Stephen as he was calling on God and saying, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit." 60 Then he knelt down and cried out with a loud voice, "Lord, do not charge them with this sin." And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
1 John 1 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.
5 This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Luke 10 25 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" 26 He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?" 27 So he answered and said, "'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.'"
28 And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live."

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... a new work in my soul and spirit, according to His grace and patience.
(NKJV) Luke 10:25 - 42 And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" He said to him, "What is written in the law? What is your reading of it?" So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' " And He said to him, "You have answered rightly; do this and you will live."
But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?" Then Jesus answered and said: "A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, who stripped him of his clothing, wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead. Now by chance a certain priest came down that road. And when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. Likewise a Levite, when he arrived at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.
But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was. And when he saw him, he had compassion. So he went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine; and he set him on his own animal, brought him to an inn, and took care of him. On the next day, when he departed, he took out two denarii, gave them to the innkeeper, and said to him, 'Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I come again, I will repay you.'
So which of these three do you think was neighbor to him who fell among the thieves?" And he said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word. But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, "Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me." And Jesus answered and said to her, "Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her."
Jesus, from whom all blessings flow, Great Builder of Thy church below; If now Thy Spirit moves my breast, Hear, and fulfil Thine own request!
The few that truly call Thee Lord, And wait Thy santifying word, And Thee their utmost Saviour own; Unite and perfect them in one.
O let them all Thy mind express, Stand forth thy chosen witnesses, Thy power unto salvation show, And perfect holiness below,
The fulness of Thy grace receive, And simply to thy glory live; Strongly reflect the light Divine, And in a land of darkness shine.
In them let all manking behold How Christians lived in days of old; Mighty their envious foes to move, A proverb of reproach - and love.
Call them into Thy wonderous light, Worthy to walk with Thee in white! Make up Thy jewels, Lord, and show The glorious, spotless church below!
From every sinful wrinkle free, Redeemed from all iniquity, The fellowship of saints make known, And, O my God, might I be one!
O might my lot be cast with these, The least of Jesu's witnesses: O that my Lord would count me meet To wash His dear disciples' feet!
This only thing do I require: Thou knowest 'tis all my heart's desire Freely what I receive to give, The servant of Thy church to live.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... several new experiences, (good ones, challenging ones,) practical progress and peace with my Creator.
To God be the glory, great things He hath done! So loved He the world that He gave us His Son, Who yielded His life an atonement for sin, And opened the lifegate that all may go in.
Refrain
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the earth hear His voice! Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, Let the people rejoice! O come to the Father through Jesus the Son, And give him the glory, great things he hath done!
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood, To every believer the promise of God; The vilest offender who truly believes, That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
Refrain Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done, And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son; But purer, and higher, and greater will be Our wonder, our transport, when Jesus we see.

[Note: the last verse and refrain can be taken up semitone. 8-) ]
(NKJV) Luke 11:9 - 28 (Jesus speaking - )
" So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.
If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!"
And He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. So it was, when the demon had gone out, that the mute spoke; and the multitudes marveled. But some of them said, "He casts out demons by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons." Others, testing Him, sought from Him a sign from heaven. But He, knowing their thoughts, said to them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls. If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? Because you say I cast out demons by Beelzebub. And if I cast out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons cast out? Therefore they will be your judges. But if I cast out demons with the finger of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you. When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
He who is not with Me is against Me, and he who does not gather with Me scatters.
When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there; and the last state of that man is worse than the first."
And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!" But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"

Praise His Holy Name! And, for many other provisions. Amen.
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying, Snatch them in pity from sin and the grave; Weep oer the erring one, lift up the fallen, Tell them of Jesus, the mighty to save.
Refrain
Rescue the perishing, care for the dying, Jesus is merciful, Jesus will save.
Though they are slighting Him, still He is waiting, Waiting the penitent child to receive; Plead with them earnestly, plead with them gently; He will forgive if they only believe.
Refrain
Down in the human heart, crushed by the tempter, Feelings lie buried that grace can restore; Touched by a loving heart, wakened by kindness, Chords that were broken will vibrate once more.
Refrain
Rescue the perishing, duty demands it; Strength for thy labor the Lord will provide; Back to the narrow way patiently win them; Tell the poor wandrer a Savior has died.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... several significant blessings - practical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual - God is Good! Praise His Name! May we lift Him up!
Lord, I believe a rest remains, To all Thy people known; A rest where pure enjoyment reigns, And Thou are loved alone;
A rest where all our soul's desire Is fixed on things above; Where doubt, and pain, and fear expire; Cast out by perfect love;
A rest of lasting joy and peace, Where all is calm within; 'Tis then from our own works we cease, From pride, self-will, and sin.
Our life is hid with Christ in God; The agony is o'er, We wrestle not with flesh and blood, We strive with sin no more.
From every evil motion freed, (the Son hath made us free,) On all the powers of hell we tread, In glorious liberty.
Safe in the way of life, above Death, earth, and hell we rise; We find, when perfected in love, Our long-sought paradise.
Within that Eden we retire, We rest in Jesu's name; It guards us, as a wall of fire, And as a sword of flame.
O that I now the rest might know, Believe, and enter in! Now, Saviour, now the power bestow, And let me cease from sin.

(NKJV) John 19 32 Then the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first and of the other who was crucified with Him. 33 But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs. 34 But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out. 35 And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you may believe. 36 For these things were done that the Scripture should be fulfilled, "None of His bones shall be broken." 37 And again another Scripture says, "They shall look on Him whom they pierced."
38 After this, Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly, for fear of the Jews, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus; and Pilate gave permission. So he came and took the body of Jesus. 39 And Nicodemus, who at first came to Jesus by night, also came, bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds. 40 Then they took the body of Jesus, and bound it in strips of linen with the spices, as the custom of the Jews is to bury. 41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid. 42 So there they laid Jesus, because of the Jews' Preparation Day, for the tomb was nearby.
Col 2:8 - 13 Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power. In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ, buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

(continued from yesterday)
Remove this hardness from my heart, This unbelief remove; To me, the rest of faith impart, The Sabbath of Thy love.
I groan from pride to be set free, From wrath to be released; Take me, O take me into Thee, My everlasting Rest.
I would be Thine, Thou knowest I would, And have Thee all my own; Thee, O my all-sufficient Good, I want, and Thee alone.
Thy Name to me, Thy Nature grant; This, only this be given; Nothing beside my God I want, Nothing in earth or heaven.
Come, O my Saviour, come away, Into my soul descend; No longer from Thy creature stay, My Author and my End.
The bliss Thou hast for me prepared No longer be delayed; Come, my exceeding Great Reward, For whom I first was made.
Come, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, And seal me Thine abode; Let all I am, in Thee be lost, Let all I am, be God!
NKJV) Genesis 15:1 After these things the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision, saying, "Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield, your exceedingly great reward."
Exodus 19:4 - 6 4 'You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and I bore you on eagles' wings and brought you to Myself.
Isaiah 40:29b - 31 And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
1 John 2:13 - 17 I write to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I write to you, young men, Because you have overcome the wicked one. I write to you, little children, Because you have known the Father I have written to you, fathers, Because you have known Him who is from the beginning. I have written to you, young men, Because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, And you have overcome the wicked one. Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world -- the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life -- is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
Ezekiel 36 25 "Then I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you shall be clean; I will cleanse you from all your filthiness and from all your idols. 26 "I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 "I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... His provisions, His grace, for favour with man, and little steps completed.
(NKJV) Luke 13:10 - 22 Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, "Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity." And He laid hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.
But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, "There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day."
The Lord then answered him and said, "Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it? So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound -- think of it -- for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?"
And when He said these things, all His adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by Him.
Then He said, "What is the kingdom of God like? And to what shall I compare it? It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and put in his garden; and it grew and became a large tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches."
And again He said, "To what shall I liken the kingdom of God? It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened."
And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.
O worship the King, All-glorious above! O gratefully sing His power and His love! Our Shield and Defender, The Ancient of Days, Pavilioned in splendor, And girded with praise.
O tell of His might! O sing of His grace! Whose robe is the light, Whose canopy space; His chariots of wrath The deep thunderclouds form, And dark is His path On the wings of the storm.
The earth, with its store Of wonders untold, Almighty, Thy power Hath founded of old, Hath 'stablished it fast By a changeless decree, And round it hath cast, Like a mantle, the sea.
Thy bountiful care, What tongue can recite? It breathes in the air; It shines in the light; It streams from the hills, It descends to the plain, And sweetly distills In the dew and the rain.
Frail children of dust, And feeble as frail, In Thee do we trust, Nor find Thee to fail; Thy mercies, how tender - How firm to the end! Our Maker, Defender, Redeemer, and Friend!
O measureless Might, Ineffable Love, While angels delight To hymn Thee above, Thy humbler creation, Though feeble their lays, With true adoration Shall lisp to Thy praise.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... a good sleep, bright sunshine, speaking to me again, AMEN! and the knowledge of His presence. Praise God! :-D
(NKJV) Luke 14:1 - 14 Now it happened, as He went into the house of one of the rulers of the Pharisees to eat bread on the Sabbath, that they watched Him closely. And behold, there was a certain man before Him who had dropsy. And Jesus, answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath?" But they kept silent. And He took and healed him, and let him go.
Then He answered them, saying, "Which of you, having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit, will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?" And they could not answer Him regarding these things.
So He told a parable to those who were invited, when He noted how they chose the best places, saying to them: "When you are invited by anyone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in the best place, lest one more honorable than you be invited by him; and he who invited you and him come and say to you, 'Give place to this man,' and then you begin with shame to take the lowest place. But when you are invited, go and sit down in the lowest place, so that when he who invited you comes he may say to you, 'Friend, go up higher.' Then you will have glory in the presence of those who sit at the table with you. For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
Then He also said to him who invited Him, "When you give a dinner or a supper, do not ask your friends, your brothers, your relatives, nor rich neighbors, lest they also invite you back, and you be repaid. But when you give a feast, invite poor, maimed, lame, blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just."
Ye servants of God, Your Master proclaim, And publish abroad His wonderful Name; The Name all-victorious Of Jesus extol; His kingdom is glorious, And rules over all.
The waves of the sea Have lift up their voice, Sore troubled that we In Jesus rejoice; The floods they are roaring, But Jesus is here; While we are adoring, He always is near.
Men, devils, engage, The billows arise And horribly rage And threaten the skies; Their fury shall never Our steadfastness shock, The weakest believer Is built on a Rock.
God ruleth on high, Almighty to save; And still he is nigh, His presence we have; The great congregation His triumph shall sing, Ascribing salvation To Jesus our king.
"Salvation to God Who sits on the throne," Let all cry aloud, And honour the Son; Our Jesus's praises The angels proclaim, Fall down on their faces, And worship the Lamb.
Then let us adore, And give him his right, All glory and power, All wisdom and might, All honour and blessing, With angels above, And thanks never-ceasing, And infinite love.

vv 15 - 24 Now when one of those who sat at the table with Him heard these things, he said to Him, "Blessed is he who shall eat bread in the kingdom of God!" Then He said to him, "A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, 'Come, for all things are now ready.' But they all with one accord [agreement] began to make excuses.
The first said to him, 'I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.' And another said, 'I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.' Still another said, 'I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.' So that servant came and reported these things to his master.
Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, 'Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here poor and maimed and lame and blind.' For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.' " :-o

(NKJV) Luke 15:1 - 10 Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him. And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, "This Man receives sinners and eats with them."
So He spoke this parable to them, saying: "What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it? And when he has found he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together friends and neighbors, saying to them, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!' I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.
Or what woman, having ten silver coins, if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp, sweep the house, and search carefully until she finds it? And when she has found, she calls friends and neighbors together, saying, 'Rejoice with me, for I have found the piece which I lost!' Likewise, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents."
I met the Good Shepherd, just now on the plain, As homeward He carried His lost one again; I marveled how gently His burden He bore; And as He passed by me, I knelt to adore.
O Shepherd, Good Shepherd, Thy wounds they are deep; The wolves have sore hurt Thee in saving Thy sheep. Thy raiment all over with crimson is dyed; And what is this wound they have made in Thy side?
O Shepherd, Good Shepherd, and is it for me This grievous affliction has fallen on Thee? Thy wounds make me love Thee, my heart shall be Thine; With Thee I will journey, my Shepherd divine.

| Re: Today, I'm praising God for ... | | ... His word and His encouragements.
A wonderful Saviour is Jesus my Lord, A wonderful Saviour to me, He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock, Where rivers of pleasure I see.
Refrain
He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock That shadows a dry, thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of his love, And covers me there with his hand.
A wonderful Saviour is Jesus my Lord, He taketh my burden away, He holdeth me up, and I shall not be moved, He giveth me strength as my day.
Refrain
With numberless blessings each moment he crowns, And filled with a fullness divine, I sing in my rapture, O glory to God For such a Redeemer as mine!
Refrain
When clothed in his brightness, transported I rise To meet him in clouds of the sky, His perfect salvation, his wonderful love, I'll shout with the millions on high.
Refrain

(KJV) Luke 15:20 - 32 And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet: and bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry: for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard music and dancing. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him. And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends: but as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
