| Re: Can somebody praise the Lord! | | What an awesome way to start the day!
Simply had to repost this great hymn....
All hail the pow’r of Jesus’ Name! Let angels prostrate fall; Bring forth the royal diadem, And crown Him Lord of all!
Ye chosen seed of Israel’s race, Ye ransomed from the fall, Hail Him Who saves you by His grace, And crown Him Lord of all!
Let every kindred, every tribe, On this terrestrial ball, To Him all majesty ascribe, And crown Him Lord of all!
Oh, that with yonder sacred throng We at His feet may fall! We’ll join the everlasting song, And crown Him Lord of all!
Thank you for starting this thread... _________________ Tolu

It is difficult for a spiritual Christian to fellowship and show love to carnal worldly people because they don’t like spiritual Christians. The flesh and the spiritual is a war against the other."
True. Your entire post is spot on. Thanks for sharing- for once I am seeing someone else who knows what I am talking about. And the warning about casting pearls before swine...
God bless.

Can you give an example of the opposition from fellow believers? _________________ Todd

Brother Todd, I’m thinking she is talking about opposition of jealousy, hatred, envy and strife that is a fleshly attitude toward a spiritual child of God. There are people who say they are Christians...that they are believers but they are still dominated by their flesh because they have not surrendered to the cross of self denial so that the love of the Holy Spirit can fill them and motivate them to produce the fruit of the Spirit.

| Re: | | rbanks,
Perhaps I should share where I am coming from - it may help someone else and others to understand.
The fact that I am a Believer in Jesus Christ is only by the mercy of God - TOTALLY.
I was raised in a home with a godly father who was married to a religious wife but was not a Christian. She was abusive to dad and me, not physically or sexually but verbally. She was critical of everyone, picked on dad and me terribly. I grew up with a lot of fear, not love by her. Fortunately, I had dad, a preacher grandfather and a (preacher) uncle who took special interest in me. They loved me in ways that was unusual - so much that as a young girl I was sure all preachers must be wonderful people!
The conflict in our home was so bad I had to fight suicidal thoughts - it was not funny. It is ONLY by the mercy of God that I am still among the living.
My mother is a narcissist and today is delusional. I have tried to be reconciled with her and I am met with a rage and an anger you do not want to see but she is very careful who sees this side of her. My siblings have never seen her rage as I have. Preachers have tried to work with her to no avail. In the meantime, she is just as sweet to others as she can be but there are times when her anger seeps through.
(I think a case can be made that unconfessed sin will lead one to become delusional. Hence it is very important for mental, spiritual health to confess your sin, get it under the blood ASAP so you can be redeemed.)
This is the story of my childhood and to a lesser extent still so when I talk about hypocrisy, I was raised in it and know first hand what it looks like and how it effects others.
Today mom is 91 YO and I am still waiting for the LORD to work his work of redemption in her heart. We know there is unconfessed sins....
So if the Holy Spirit ever leads to pray for me, please do so.
Thanks for listening and God bless.

| Re: | | Thanks, Todd.
You know what? Eighteen months ago mom thought she was dying and she was making confessions to me for the way she mistreated me. I was delighted with this turn of events, praising the LORD! But she did not die. She recovered and now is worse then ever before.
When I hear of deathbed confessions I take pause. Are they really interested in being reconciled or just interested in escaping hell?
I am still very concerned about mom as are my siblings. Thanks for praying.

| Re: | | Thanks for sharing Sister Sandra...
Wow...sad to hear but will pray...
Genuine repentance has to be granted by God to a heart that is truly sorry toward God...that is godly sorrow works repentance not to be repented of.
I’ve seen to often how the flesh will feign a change from seemingly to be sorry but when things get better it goes right back to it’s self centered way.
I hope somehow she will come to a godly sorrow that will bring fruit...
I pray also that God will strengthen you to endure with the love of God being poured into your heart by the Holy Spirit...
Thanking God for His love to be shed abroad in our hearts during times of difficult trials and circumstances.
Sometimes we just need to shout and rejoice in the Holy Ghost because He is with us and strengthens us through praise....We belong to Him and He is always with us to do us good!!
Blessings to you sister! |
