Insanity of God Movie - About Christian Persecution Aug 30th

Saints,

Though I am not much into promoting big events at times like this but I have read the book that this movie is based off and it is sure to be challenging to our faith. I thought Blaine would enjoy to see this also!

You can see some videos and trailers about the movie at: https://www.facebook.com/insanityofgodmovie/

IN SELECT CINEMAS NATIONWIDE
A SPECIAL ONE NIGHT EVENT

This summer, discover the amazing true stories of Jesus at work in some of the darkest places on earth.

The Insanity of God is the true story of missionaries Nik and Ruth Ripken. After the death of their son, this ordinary couple journeys into the depths of the persecuted church, asking the question- IS JESUS WORTH IT?

How does faith survive, let alone flourish in the places of the world that are over come with the darkness of sin, despair and hopelessness? Join the Ripkens as they tell the story of being taught by believers in persecution"how to follow Jesus, how to love Jesus, and how to walk with Him day by day even when it doesn't make sense."

The film is based on the best-selling book Insanity of God (BH Publishing) and is released in association with the International Mission Board (IMB). The movie will be the first theatrical release from LifeWay Films when it opens in theaters across the United States on August 30 as a one-night event.

.
Greg thanks for posting. I will be on the lookout for this movie if it's being shown here in Little Rock. Also be a good motive to go read the book Insanity of God. Also will advise intercessors on the PW team.

I certainly pray that this movie will raise a greater awareness of the persecuted church here in America. But I like one thing that that brothet Nik said. There is no such thing as a free church and a suffering Church. There is the church.

Very profound. Very true.

 Re:

.
Two insane comments that came out of the video.

...A pastor in a persecuted nation says that if he is in prison and he had heard that his wife and children had been hung for not denying Jesus. His response was that he would be the happiest man in that prison...

...The persecuted say that they are thankful that they are counted Worthy to suffer for the Lord Jesus Christ...

Dear God how so far removed from reality we are in the West. How so far removed from reality we are in the West. Could it be that our persecuted brothers and sisters understand the sanity of God. And we in the West are insane on our safe bubble.

Dear God open up our eyes to the reality of those who suffer in the shadow of the cross what the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray this in blessed name.

 Re:

I just found out about this movie myself let night and plan on going to see it. I think David Platt &/or the IMB mission board have some involvement with it. I think David Platt may be speaking at the end of the film on missions. He's the president of the International Missions Board & one of my favorites to hear share on the subject specifically of missions (along with John Piper, Michael Brown, Joel Richardson, Dalton Thomas, David Wilkerson & others).

Thank you for sharing the info with us. I sent out an email to all on my list and my husband got us tickets. In case you didn't see these additional videos and pictures, here is the original trailer, responses from the audience who viewed it, a word to pastors and leaders, and a few words by David Platt. If you pull down the tab in the upper right corner, you will see additional info. I pray this will jolt the western church awake, even if a smoldering ember ignites in their hearts. We should seriously keep this in prayer. The Lord bless you all.

 Re:

Hey Bear,
Just for accuracy's sake, he said that "if he found out his wife and children were hung because they wouldn't deny Jesus, that he would be the most proud man in the prison." Not trying to correct you for its sake alone. But I thought making the distinction & sharing exactly what he said would be important. He would be proud, & he would have joy knowing they were with Jesus & were faithful. "Happy" has another connotation. I don't think anyone would be "happy" about that. Happiness is based on "happenstances", but Joy is something only God can give and is immovable by mere circumstances. I have a heart for these truths and fellow brethren too, so I didn't want someone to misunderstand and think, "that's morbid. Who would be 'happy' about that?" So I thought I'd clear that up.
God Bless,
Jeff

Brother Greg,
I was looking up the book reviews and happened upon at least one review of a person who was questioning the existence of God, but after reading the book it woke him up to know Jesus is real. I have a son who claims to be an atheist because of the hypocrisy he has seen in the western church, with much prayer, this may be what it takes to remove the scales from his eyes. There are roughly a little more than 1000 reviews. You can read them here...

A dear sister in Christ asked me to listen to this, so in turn, I'm going to post it here and ask you all to listen to it before you watch the Insanity of God. Im still dumbfounded and broken after listening to this...so very broken. May Gods will "truly" be done on earth "as" it is in heaven.....
