Gen 4:6 So the LORD said to Cain, “Why are you angry? And why has your countenance fallen?
Gen 4:7 “If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin lies at the door. And its desire is for you, but you should rule over it.”
God exhorts Cain to repent and if he repents God says the He will "accept" (choose) him. And then God warns Cain that "sin lies at the door, and its desire is for you, but you should rule over it." Likewise, God had warned Adam and Eve to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
In both of these precepts: From what source does evil and sin emanate from?

"In both of these precepts; from what source does evil and sin emanate from?
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Jas 1:13 Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone.
Jas 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
Jas 1:16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren.
Again; James writes;
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
Who must man reject, and if he does who chooses him? _________________ Jeff Marshalek

Roms 7:11 For sin, taking occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it slew me.

What comes before the "birth to sin"?

Sin sought to get entrance to the world, so it said "if you eat of the fruit you'll be like God"
Sin deceived, then it slew them.

Actually, as the Scripture points to the act of temptation as the source for sin, we both are pointing to the spiritual force that is corrupting this world. And that force is Satan.
Do you agree? _________________ Jeff Marshalek

| Re: | | Nope I dont agree that - "the act of temptation as the source for sin"
Temptation is not sin, the deceiving enticement behind temptation is Sin. Now when you succumb to the temptation, it will bring forth sin, but if don't succumb to temptation and you resist Sin, it will depart from you and will have not have sinned, so temptation is not sin.
Sin looks for a weakness, a desire that you may have, it will whisper using flattering words to entice and it will slowly draw the mind away, all the while working away to convince and minimise the sinfulness of the act sin that it desires you to do. _________________ Colin Murray

Sorry I was not precise enough, according to Scripture...
Jas 1:14 But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed.
Jas 1:15 Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death.
The spiritual source that tempts the individual is the devil.
Do you agree with this statement?

It says Quote:
drawn away by his own desires
that is our own desires. |
