 Christian TV host asks God for ‘military takeover’ of Obama’s presidency

A Christian TV host this week called on God to consider a “military takeover” of President Barack Obama’s government because it could be the only way to save the country from tyranny.

On his Monday Internet broadcast, Morning Star TV’s Rick Joyner predicted that democracy was “doomed” unless the Lord imposed martial law.

“The balance of powers in the legislative and judicial branches were supposed to balance and keep in check, hold in check, the potential tyranny from the executive branch overstepping their bounds,” Joyner explained. “The people are not always right, it depends on what people they are. And another thing the founders warned about is this thing will only work for a moral and a religious people. You remove morality, you remove the religious influence, and it cannot work.”

“We’re headed for serious tyranny, a terrible tyranny right now,” he continued. “But guess what? The kingdom is coming, the Kingdom of God is coming. And America is not the Kingdom of God. I think we have been used in some wonderful and powerful ways by God, we’ve been one of the most generous nations in history. We’ve done so much good.”

“That’s why I appeal to the Lord: Don’t let us be totally destroyed, please raise up those who will save us. And as I’ve been telling friends for a long time, no election is going to get the right person in there because the system is so broken.”

Joyner added that the “only hope is a military takeover, martial law.”

“And that the most crucial element of that is who to the martial [sic] is going to be,” he said. “I believe there are noble leaders in our military that love the republic and love everything we stand for. And they could seize the government.”

Watch this video from Morning Star TV, broadcast Sept. 30, 2013.

 Re: Christian TV host asks God for ‘military takeover’ of Obama’s presidency

The irony is that the present government shutdown is an attempt to strike down a law that was passed, whether you like the law or not, legitimately. It was passed by congress and the senate, signed into law, challenged up to the supreme court and tested in a general election where it was the made the central issue and the country chose. We are witnessing lawlessness whereby the country is held hostage and shut down by a minority who cannot and will not accept any other opinion other than their own.

You know what would be really impressive? If there was a government shutdown over Roe vs Wade. Now that would be something, but big business does not care about that issue. It's all very sad and I might add, very dangerous. Now we have " Christian," leaders talking about using force to save the country. Hmmm, wonder where I have heard that before. I say to America " beware." Yet , more than likely this is the judgement of God playing out before our eyes. We are a country without statesmen and the people are at each others throats and it is not getting better. Lawless days lie ahead.............bro Frank

Rom 13:1 Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Rom 13:2 Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

Paul's letter is to the Church.

What Joyner is suggesting to the Church has no precedence in the NT and the root of his suggestion is FEAR.

He does harm to the Church (bring the wrath of man onto it)to suggest this, putting us in the crosshairs of the present administration.

Israel in the time of the Early Church was occupied by a foreign power, yet not only was Romans 13 penned, but also 1 Timothy. Because Joyner names the name of Christ, nothing good will come from his public statement to overthrow the present government. Appalling!!

1Ti 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1Ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1Ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Rick Joyner is ridiculous.

Hi Frank,

You are in biblical error when you suggest that Congress is somehow 'lawless' by voting against government run healthcare. To suggest this is not rightly dividing the word of truth.

Using your line of reasoning (again, I've communicated this to you personally) the 3 Hebrew children were rightfully thrown in the fire for their rebellion due to the fact that they disagreed with the majority.

Additionally, the law HAS NOT been 'tested to the Supreme Court' there are countless challenges to it in Appeals courts now (see Hobby Lobby).

 Re:

Please Learjet, do not put words in my mouth. I did not say that the congress is lawless by voting against this act which is now law. Please re-read the small paragraph I wrote and see that I said that it was lawless to shut the government down to try and derail an act that has already passed into law and has been ruled constitutional by the Supreme court.

So do you condone the President allowing big business to have a year grace period, and "WE The People" have no grace period and will begin paying today. This is a perfect example of the "Double Standard America" we live in, this is why folks are fed up and have shutdown the government. Thank God at least right or wrong, we have some folks in Washington fighting for us, if not the Government would have already taken over, and our freedom would be completely out the window. Rather anyone wants to believe this or not, we are headed to a socialist nation, if you can't see this your blind, deaf and dumb.

 Re:

I must concur with Frank. Like it or not ( and I don't like it), Obama care is the law of the land.

Hi Frank,

With all do respect I did not put words in your mouth, I quoted you directly.

Men voting the way that their constituents are asking them to vote is not lawlessness my friend and for you to insinuate that is biblical error.

Yes, I understood perfectly what you meant, and what you mean is biblical error.

Many thanks!

 Re:

Mr. Bear, I am not arguing if it's the law of the land, it's just not the law for everyone yet, just the people not big business. How about we adopt a law that says, if Mr. bear runs a stop sign he gets a ticket, but if any big business vehicle runs it they will not get a ticket until one year from now.
