 Re: Back to the Garden

Even as Eve gave Adam bad fruit in the garden,so it is that the fruit of bad doctrine is being presented on this thread to men by a woman.

And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, having been deluded, has come to be in transgression. 1 Tim. 2:14

If she were not deluded she'd clearly see that she is in transgression. Any woman who clearly sees will not kick against the goads as oxen,but will rather heed His Word;

Let a woman be learning in quietness with all submission. Now I am not permitting a woman to be teaching nor yet to be domineering over a man,, but to be in quietness. 1 Tim. 2:11,12

If the elementariness of the above verses were fundamentally understood and her spirit yielded thereto,unlike Eve,she'd build her house upon such a foundation rather than tear her own house down. I venture such woman is not married, and if she had been at one time it is no wonder she's not so any longer. There's no respect,nor submissiveness,nor reverence,nor shamefacedness,meekness or quietness. All which is commanded to the woman by our LORD in His Word.

But such contentious spirits we have in the daughters of Eve.

The Word will not restrain these spirits but will make them even the more contentious.

A continual dripping on a very rainy day and a contentious woman are alike. He who restrains her can stifle the wind and can dictate to oil in his right hand. Prov. 27:15,16

jimp,LeePadah,and Old_Joe, thanks for contributing to this thread as your posts have been refreshing.

I thought that the SI moderators have asked these threads that promote Calvinism not be started.

 Re:

, the Bible indicates that believers are children of God:

•The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. (Romans 8:16)

•You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, (Galatians 3:26)

•Because you are sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father." So you are no longer a slave, but a son; and since you are a son, God has made you also an heir. (Galatians 4:6-7)

•But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, now crowned with glory and honor because he suffered death, so that by the grace of God he might taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons to glory, it was fitting that God, for whom and through whom everything exists, should make the author of their salvation perfect through suffering. (Hebrews 2:9-10)

•And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son." (Hebrews 12:5-6)

•How great is the love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. (1 John 3:1)

•Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when he appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. (1 John 3:2)

•This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not a child of God; nor is anyone who does not love his brother. (1 John 3:10)

•We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one. (1 John 5:19)

•Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God-- (John 1:12)

The is no breaking of Gods promises in these scriptures.

The greatest assurance in Scripture is Christ is birhted in the believer and the work He has begun He will finish.
Like Jesus The Father will not loose any He has given to the Son. Jesus declares this very word. If incorruptable Seed from the Father which is Jesus Christ is birthed in those that believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, they are saved and free indeed and sons eternally. The Seed of Jesus Christ would have to be killed by abortion to confirm those that don't believe in eternal security and will loose their salvation if they don't do more good works that bad works, that they must give God a hand in their own salvation, The Cross was not enough.

1 John 5:11-13 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Romans 8:9-11 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now ((((((if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.)))))) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

The Seed of New Life in Christ in us that believe cannot be taken away, God is not an Indian giver or and abortionist. He will accomplish He word and it will not return void.

Please cite one verse in the Bible where God disowns one of His children, where God unpredestines a believer to be in Christ and the Seed of the Father in the believer taken out, where God disinherits a believer. Please cite one verse where God breaks a promise. The Bible says God's call is irrevocable. (Romans 11:29)19To the eternal security skeptic: Please cite one verse in the Bible where God uncalls a believer. To the eternal security skeptic: Please cite one verse in the Bible where God unseals a believer, cite one verse in the Bible where a believer can be unborn again.

They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us. For if they had belonged to us, they would have remained with us; but their going showed that none of them belonged to us. (1 John 2:19)

You will never find that verse quoted by eternal security skeptics!

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints. (Ephesians 1:18)

Study this very carefully;

Eph 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:
Eph 1:2 Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
Eph 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
Eph 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
Eph 1:8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
Eph 1:9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
Eph 1:10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
Eph 1:11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:
Eph 1:12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.
Eph 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Eph 1:15 Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
Eph 1:16 Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
Eph 1:17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:
Eph 1:18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,
Eph 1:19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Eph 1:20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
Eph 1:21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
Eph 1:22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
Eph 1:23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

Hebrews 13:20-21 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

In Christ and Christ in me forever: Phillip

 Re:

Savannah, I am saying this very calmly, though this thread has brought actual pain and tears to me, even before finding your post this morning, but you have much nerve to come against anyone that isn't a CALVINIST. You proved in your post - it's not that it's because I'm a "woman" - as you mentioned LeePedah - but you've once again have only come against me because I'm not a Calvinist. Incredible.

There are many on here that are not a follower of that ONE man's theology and yet after a message such as the one in this OP is posted, we that are not CALVINISTs are not allowed to give the opposing view-point or say a word or defend the teaching of Freewill, when the OP starts out, outwardly coming against Arminians.

'One' man, Calvin, changed the theology of Christianity - was it over 1500 yrs after Christ and then the swords came out with it and yet, Anabaptists or those like them are to remain silent?

This OP has truly opened my eyes to much more than I realized through much research of how just ONE man changed the beliefs of the early or first Church and caused the greatest division and anti-Scriptural beliefs that could have ever been imagined - besides the bloodshed that came along with it.

And the tenure of your cruel post is just more of the same fruit of this heartless belief system. That if we don't agree with CALVIN, then we're to be SILENCED - if not by the sword or the fires than with firey cutting words.

The love doctrine - right? No freewill - right?

Evil fruit and not Biblical and both the OP that mentions Arminians from the start and your cutting post deserves this conclusion ... Evil fruit with blood all over it.

I'm done with compromising with the fruit of this ONE man.
Church History that I wasn't even aware of until this thread, has caused me to repent of my compromising over these last few years.
Put your swords away - I'm done with compromising or even trying to have a discussion with CALVINISTS, if Savannah is yet another example of the fruit of this that was brought into the Church 1500 yrs after Christ and with the sword. Bloody anti-Scriptural religion - you can have it and any books that I have written by these Anti-Anabaptists!

 Re:

It was the Holy Spirit that revealed to my heart the doctrine of election. I think it is faulty to think that revelation from God's written word is in any way separate from God's manifest presence in the life of the believer.
Our inadequacy in comprehending any doctrine revealed in scriptures is not evidence of any inadequacy in the revealed truth. Yes, I was chosen from th foundation of the world, and yes, whosoever will may come. The temptation would be to reduce His sovereign choice to foreknowledge alone, or conversely to say He did not desire all men to be saved. We are utilizing human rationality to know the mind of the almighty God?
I am not a Calvinist, I am a child of God, snatched out of the darkness of this present age by the sovereign will of God. I had no capacity to choose Him, and the longer I am His, the more the fact that I can not be kept by my own volition becomes an unquestionable reality. Within His sovereign will there is my will also, being set free from the chains of my fallen nature, and that is a work of His santifying process. T'was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved.
How totally humbling this is....He chose the weak things...

 Re:

Jesus is God, sorry, I was writing my post while you posted and just read it after the fact.
I think this discussion is a good one to have! Please continue to explore this, and please don't categorize people into groups like this. Harshness come from all directions on every issue.
There is some popular reconstrutionist teachings on church history out there, remember, the reformation, though not perfect, was fully intended to be a return to biblical Christianiy. If the reformation had not occurred, the bible was bell on its way to becoming a hidden document, amongst the relics.
Love you!

 Re:

Sis, you can read the last post on the bottom of page 8 to see what caused the Counsel of Dort and the killing of those that held to those 5 beliefs, besides them being against infant baptism and tell me where you disagree with those 5 tenets that I posted there.
I am a member of a Reformed Theology church and the research I've done within the last few days has just about killed me and if it weren't for Savannah's cruel and ignorant of my life post, I hadn't planned to post again to this thread - before GOD, that is truth.

Adding: Sister, I just read your post and I love you too - very much. His Blessings to you.

Quote:
Far too many verses that have been posted and can be that prove out that a person can "fall away" of their own freewill.

Each of those must be done at the expense of everlasting life.

It is real simple, right now do you have EVERLASTING life? Yes or no.
