 Re:

JIG in your experience, have you seen these same miracles Jimp is speaking of. I do not doubt God's ability to move and use men in magnificent ways. This just seems so foreign to what I am used to seeing. When I do hear such incredible numbers I begin to be very concerned and suspicious of what is being delivered. I am just being honest and I am still young in the faith. There is no doubt we could all be more trusting and I want to be. However there has been such great abuse. IF I had not experienced it first hand I would not be as concerned. Even as I have presented the gospel I find myself having to fight the urge to present what is abreviated and demands an immediate decision vs that which declares God to man and leaves the man dealing with himself and hopefully the Lord.

Brother Lylewise, sorry I had to run to Dad's after my last post on General.

Brother, first I consider the source. If the same folks that are doing the reporting also endorse heretics, I ignore their statistics.

The message that's been in my signature says it all to me.

We must Know Him experientially and by His Word, equally.

I see it as a man with two legs instead of one.

One leg is Knowing Him by His Spirit and the other leg is Knowing Him by His Word.

Most today only want the one leg of "spirit" and feel they can drag along just fine, or "hopping" around on their one leg, shouting "the spirit - the spirit". There's no such thing as "holy-hoppers".

In countries where there's persecution, I see more two legged people than I do in this country and yes, I do believe in all of the gifts and Mr. Jimp should know that by now - but even if there's a healing or leading people to salvation - if that miracle worker is a heretic or endorses heretics - they are not from Him and most of those who are "saved" through their ministries are led into the apostate church of heresies-for-unity-movement and easy-believism.

I can only judge by His Word. If others hate that in me and want to call my beliefs "negativity" - I truly don't expect anything less because that's been the battle since the beginning of time - His Word against counterfeits & heresies. That battle will rage on until we're either beheaded for His Truth or we go to Him some other way.

We have to be willing to stand 100% alone on His Word because that's the way it's going and the way we'll probably 'go'. I do believe we're living in the period of the falling away from truth / apostasy and that's all I've seen in "all my yrs in the church".
Those who believe that they can throw out The Truth [which is one of His Names also] and still be rewarded for their 'acts' have a different Jesus and a different spirit.
How many years a person is "saved" doesn't weigh-in with me neither. Look at how old Harold Camping is. How many other old time heretics are still preaching and claiming great things of themselves?
I watch to see who men "endorse", just the way I check the "Links" section of a website when I first visit one and Look to see what books they endorse.

Jesus and His Apostles warned us far too many times to be careful for deception. That signs & wonders are not a sign of legitimacy and what a person is taught about and after salvation really matters.
That "TRUTH" is the ONLY measure of a man or a ministry.
That's it. That's what He said.

GOD Bless you Brother.

 Re:

i thaught he said that you shall know them by their fruit. i must be mistaken. you do not know me but if you did you certainly would not show so much lack of love. i follow no man save the One with nailprints.remember He said that He came not to the world to condemn it but that thru Him the world might be saved. no negativity there.it is the goodness of God that leads to repentence. not harshness or fear.get into the program to win the lost for if you did i know that they would be true converts because of your wonderful zeal .

 Re:

You see a lack of "Love" in my post and "harshness" and think I don't evangelize wherever I am.

I think from now on, instead of using my own words, I'll just use His, which includes Paul's, John's, Peter's, Jude's, etc and any good sermons that I can find.

Thanks for giving further directions Jim.

 Re:

where is the power? that is a great question, i recently heard a sermon about how when the truth of the Lord decreases in the church so does his power. its the lords truth that stands up against lies and brings light to hidden wicked things. All i can do is pray that the Lords truth grows in me and transforms my mind so when the season comes for me to stand up, i will stand in the lords truth and strength.

Not so! For it is written, "And some save with fear,... hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.."

Jesus Christ talked more about Hell than He did about Heaven.
While it is true that it is the goodness of God that leads to repentance, it is false that fear does not. EVERYONE who comes to Christ fears Hell.

How many "Moses, Elishas, Elijahs" are there in the church now? How many Arthur Blesseds? Sure, signs and wonders will aways be out there - some legit and some counterfeit - but the Church as a whole - how are we doing?

I know not one. The Church as a whole seems to be flourishing over in China's underground--or so i hear, but here in USA it is dead as a doornail, with a false or incomplete gospel being taught in almost every church.

Yes, Crusader, that is evident also. The churches are following the false gospel promoted since the 1950s by Billy Graham and they are also full of counterfeit bibles. Now every person in the pew has a different "version" of God's Word!! How insane! Is it any wonder it is so hard for people to memorize God's Word when so many "versions" of it are being peddled and spoken in the churches?? This is the devil's work. And when you try to talk sense to people about this their pride rears up and they become enraged.

This is true, some are saved by compassion, as in v 21, others are saved by fear as in v 22.

Quote:
EVERYONE who comes to Christ fears Hell.

This is not true. Everyone who comes to Christ fears God, not necessarily what God has created. I would go to hell with God were that His will for me, and wouldn't fear it if I knew He was with me; but I would fear heaven if I knew God were not there. My fear then would not be based on that which was created but rather on the God who created it, and whether He was with me or against me.
