EVENT: New Year's Family Prayer Retreat

New Year's Eve seems an ideal time to meet together and reflect on God's working in our lives. We are arranging the First Annual New Year's Family Prayer Retreat Friday Dec. 31 to Sunday Jan. 2, at a guest ranch in southern Arizona.

Our retreat speaker, David Smithers, has extensively studied revival and prayer. He will give a brief overview of revival history and principles of corporate prayer, so that we can join together and seek God more effectively in our families and churches. David is a pastor and homeschooling father of five. Watchword Revival Resource Center

It is our hope that all who attend will be encouraged as we learn about revival and prayer. We wish to allow time for everyone, young and old, to meet with God. We realize we come from different denominational perspectives yet our common bond is the Lord Jesus Christ, our spiritual Head.

Costs will be around $60, meals included. Tents and RVs welcome. Limited lodging in the guest rooms. Please email ASAP if you are interested.

I want to personally encourage anyone in the United States thare are near "southern Arizona" to pray about attending this event. David Smithers is a great speaker and you can hear his audio sermons on SermonIndex here: David Smithers

I personally recommend these recordings:
Barrenness by David Smithers
Extreme Prayer (High Quality) by David Smithers

I am trying to work with a brother that is going with David to attend the event to record it on video. And hopefully afterwards to be able to post the recordings on SI.

If yourself or your family are looking for a good time of fellowship and prayer to start your year off with God then consider reserving a spot at this retreat. It is sure to be a blessing.

Re: EVENT: New Year's Family Prayer Retreat

I just finished the registration form and tentative schedule. Anyone wishing to come please contact me ASAP.

Nearest airpost is Tucson and it's an easy 45-min. drive to the ranch. If you need transportation to/from the airport let us know.

We're very excited about this event! Fred told me to tell you that if you can't afford the fee of $60, let us know and we'll work something out.

Can you perhaps give a location re: mapquest.com ? that might help people determine how close they are and how feasable the trip would be.

Re: Map and location of Family Prayer Retreat

Okay, here's the map from Mapquest. The retreat is being held at a private guest ranch near Exit 318 of Interstate 10 in southeastern Arizona. Those interested in coming can email me for further information.

Have you heard from anyone yet from SI mrs fred? David Smithers is a great speaker and if you can make it to hear him it would be well worth your time.

wow a all-night prayer meeting that sure sounds awesome! I know this event will be a major blessing in the Lord and fellowship of the saints. Hopefully brother Chad who is coming can video tape all of it so I can share alot of the weekend with the saints at SI.
