Re: How many versions of the Bible do we need?

Well, I do not know how many translations people need.

Multiple translations do not prevent disputes about doctrine. People still love to argue and fuss about...and it will continue. Even those that believe the KJV is the only God-breathed scriptures will argue among themselves. Since this is the case, may I suggest the problem goes much deeper then what translation one uses.

And I love my NASB; and sometimes I will use the KJV. What is the most important thing to me is the Author who inspired humans to pen it. I do look forward to meeting Bro. Isaiah someday - I think he must be a very interesting person - someone with a sense of humor!

 Re:

It is not the Bible Translations it is where the Greek Texts come from there is a different Greek Text between the King James and the other translations, but also translations also have doctrinal issues which you would probably not really notice if you did not look at the different bible translations there is an emergent church bible coming out soon called the Voice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Voice_%28Bible_translation%29)
Most of the Bible Translations use the Wescott and Hort Text (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wescott-Hort) , the King James uses the Textus Reciptus (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Textus_Receptus)
Do we not need to know where are bible came from? To refute the Muslims and all other groups, there is a copy of the John Papiri (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rylands_Papyri) which is suppose to date to 60AD
I have read most of the translations and can see the bias I so want to learn Greek and Hebrew and have a breakthrough in languages,I can read the alphabet and I just cannot read fluently, I so want a breakthrough

 Re:

I read the living bible...the king james version. 100% believe that God has kept it pure.

Regardless, if your not born again you will not understand any of the bible. The Holy Spirit leads believers to all truths.

Instead of creating new English versions I think perhaps we should invest that money and effort into getting Bible translations into languages that do not currently have a single verse in their own native tongue.
