Frank Bartleman maybe??:
"A revival almost always begins among the laity. The ecclesiastical leaders seldom welcome reformation. History repeats itself. The present leaders are too comfortably situated as a rule to desire innovation that might require sacrifice on their part. And God's fire only falls on sacrifice. An empty altar receives no fire!"

When my father preached this I trembled: “it is appointed for man to die once, and after that comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).

 Re:

Satan knows that he can undermine the structure of the church by slyly
removing just one fundamental doctrine at a time. He frequently loosens
a large foundation gradually, chiseling it away bit by bit. That is why
tolerance for the sake of peace may be dangerous. One step by giving in
will lead to a next step, and will not God visit us with blindness if we
deliberately darken the truth He has graciously entrusted to us. How
shall we justify ourselves if we permit even a little of the truth to be
laid aside? Is that ours to do? When peace is injurious to the truth,
peace must give way. Peace with God is of greater value than peace with men.

Abraham Kuyper

"Lost for the lack of the help I might give! Perising, perishing! Thou wast not willing; Master, forgive, and inspire us anew: Banish our worldliness, help us to ever Live with eternity's values in view." - Lucy Meyer

 Re:

"Once it was the blessing, Now it is the Lord;
Once it was the feeling, Now it is His Word.
Once His gifts I wanted, Now the Giver own;
Once I sought for healing, Now Himself alone.

Once 'twas painful trying, Now 'tis perfect trust;
Once a half salvation, Now the uttermost.
Once 'twas ceaseless holding, Now He holds me fast;
Once 'twas constant drifting, Now my anchor's cast.

Once 'twas busy planning, Now 'tis trustful prayer;
Once 'twas anxious caring, Now He has the care.
Once 'twas what I wanted, Now what Jesus says;
Once 'twas constant asking, Now 'tis ceaseless praise.

Once it was my working, His it hence shall be;
Once I tried to use Him, Now He uses me.
Once the power I wanted, Now the Mighty One;
Once for self I labored, Now for Him alone.

Once I hoped in Jesus, Now I know He's mine;
Once my lamps were dying, Now they brightly shine.
Once for death I waited, Now His coming hail;
And my hopes are anchored, Safe within the veil."
— A.B. Simpson
