Re:

Hia David - this is to your first post to me. I'll be back with a reply to this second one. :-)
Hey, it's my Favorite Subject - HE'S COMING BACK !!!! Yeeee-haaaaa !!!

Quote:
David wrote:
Annie , I agree it is good to look at all scripture.
You are wrong about the return of Jesus for his bride . It is a surprise to the remnant and all others.
Note the parable of the 10 virgins.

Matt.25;6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.

Brother, how is this a "surprise" ? The "midnight cry" was 'heard'.

Quote:
7Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.

8And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.

9But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.

10And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.

11Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.

12But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.

13Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.

This parable proves that there will be a period of darkness BEFORE the Bridegroom comes.
"The Brightness of His Appearing" would not require such a ample supply of "oil" to see one's way through the dark.
The foolish virgins did not store up enough oil to get through until His Coming.
By time they realized and tried to go get some somewhere and tried to make it to "the marriage" - the Lord shut them out for their foolishness of not having enough oil to last them "until That Day".
Verse 13 is our admonition to stay alert and watch - which the Wise virgins did and the foolish didn't. That is the warning.
It only says that we don't know the "day nor hour" - but we are exhorted that - 1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

Quote:
Con cerning the "bride" and "place"

It is you that is trying to "fit" events.

I dont think you can draw that concusion without a major stretch.

The Holy city being referred to in ch.21 is an actual city with walls.

Do you actually believe that Jesus is building us actual mansions for each of us in Heaven or is the New Jerusalem what He is preparing ?

Quote:
1) the bride is in heaven in ch 19 and she has become the wife.

No where does it say that the Church has been resurrected before Rev 19:4-6 at "The FIRST ressurrection".

There are many seen "in Heaven" from Chpt 6 of Revelation on - but they were killed or died.

Quote:
2) Jesus told the disciples Matt26 29But I say unto you, I will not drink henceforth of this fruit of the vine, until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.

The point is Jesus went "up" into heaven to prepare a place.

We find the white horses the bride, the "place" and the marriage supper all "up" in heaven.and she is referred to as the wife all in the same breath.

No scriptures say "UP" brother. Again - one must read Rev 19 - 22 without pulling verses, but as a whole.

Quote:
Now fast foreward to ch21 9And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.

10And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,

11Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

12And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:

13On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.

14And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

15And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.

16And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

17And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

18And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.

19And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

20The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.

21And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.

22And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.

23And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

24And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.

25And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.

26And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it.

27And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

I dont know what is proven here except to confirm everything i have brought forth.

See the Emphasised verses ? It is saying the opposite of all you've brought forth.

Quote:
You may be trying to place the marriage supper of the lamb in ch21?

Nobody reading that would come to that conclusion.

No brother - the supper is in the whole of chpt 19 not 21.

Quote:
Also note rev21;9.............wife......descending out of heaven.

Yes I know, but earlier you said it was "a place - a city".

By chapter 21 - yes, we are in our Resurrected-Glorified Bodies. We will not be restricted to earth in that state. He by verse 21:9 has destroyed the earth and has made a new Heaven and New earth - so it's the beauty of the mystery of "the place He is preparing for us."

 Re:

Matthew 24:35-37
35Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

36But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

Acts 1: 6When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

This is the second coming of Jesus to the earth……

Both one in the same, to execute Judgement on the earth and to set up the 1000 Year Kingdom Reign.

The day of the Lord is the Day of God’s vengeance and wrath. The **GREAT Tribulation** such as has never been before on earth.

Joel 1:15
Alas for the day! for the the day of the LORD
is at hand, and as a destruction from the Almighty shall it come.

Joel 2:1
Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the the day of the LORD
cometh, for it is nigh at hand;

Joel 2:11
And the LORD shall utter his voice before his army: for his camp is very great: for he is strong that executeth his word: for the the day of the LORD
is great and very terrible; and who can abide it?

Joel 2:31
The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible the day of the LORD
come.

Joel 3:14
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the the day of the LORD
is near in the valley of decision.

Malachi 4:5
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful the day of the LORD:

Who is THEY and THEM?

1 Thessalonians 5
1But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.

2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the LORD so cometh as a thief in the night.

3For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.

And who here are the Ye’s We’s You’s and Us’s?
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

5Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.

8But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

9For God hath not appointed us to wrath (((((((( the day of the LORD )))))))
but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ,
10Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

11Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.

Love in Christ

 Re:

Anne, The Day of our Lord Jesus Christ is not the same as the Day of the Lord.

The Day of our Lord Jesus Christ is the day Jesus rose from the Dead, a New Day.....

Resurrection Day....
This is why Paul said we are of the **DAY** .....and children of the LIGHT.

OT Day of the Lord is God's wrath, having nothing to do with those of the Resurrection Day and those raised up together with Christ.

 Re:

We all possess the same Bible.

We choose what we see from the verses given in these posts.

That's the crux of it.

Some of us see that there is only One Coming of the LORD, at which time we are gathered unto Him (reward & judgment DAY) - especially in Matt 13 alone - and One Day of the LORD as seen in the N.T. and cross-referenced to the Old. I am one that sees it that way. To each their own, the Word of God says. Shalom!

 Re:

Philippians 1:6

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

2 Peter 1:18, 19

18And this voice which came from heaven we heard, when we were with him in the holy mount.

19We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts:

2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

 Re:

Annie, my point is that the the foolish were caught unaware. This is a surprise. also at midnight the cry was made and the fact they slept and slumbered.
So yes it was a surprise just like if you were asleep and there was a knock on your door.

Also in your analogy of oil and light?

can you show me where this is consistent with other passages where oil is used?

If it is light being spoken of i believe it would have referred to light.
It refers to what some had and some didn't have.
Which is oil,or anointing, or intimacy.
The light came from the oil not visa versa.

This parable is simple the fools are fools due to the lack of oil,Gods presence, annointing, the believers first love. They are not instructed to buy light, but oil.

The diligent (wise) have kept up their relationship with the groom. Illustrated by their "oil" ...Oil is a type.

This parable clearly points to the rapture.
Note bridegroom, door shut, and ...went in with him to the marriage.

Clearly some virgins (christians) were left behind.

You say no scripture says up?
You havent read 5And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,

1These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: acts11;1 Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

I found these three right away but there are more pointing to heaven being "up"

 Re:

2Pe 3:1 This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:
2Pe 3:2 That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Savior:
2Pe 3:3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
2Pe 3:4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
2Pe 3:5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
2Pe 3:6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished.
2Pe 3:7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
2Pe 3:8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

2Pe 3:11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
2Pe 3:12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
2Pe 3:13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
2Pe 3:14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2Pe 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
2Pe 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction.
2Pe 3:17 Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.
2Pe 3:18 But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
