Recommend a Leonard Ravenhill Sermon...

Greetings!

For the past few years, I have used the Christmas holiday as an opportunity to burn some of the powerful messages contained on SermonIndex onto CDs. I then label these CDs with the rightful information (the author of the message, and the web address for SI). Thereafter, I package them in Christmas wrap and send them to various pastors in the region.

I have usually sent Ten Shekels and a Shirt by Paris Reidhead. I've also included The Revival Hymn. Both of these audio files have blessed me immensely. It has been my prayer that they could affect the local Church leaders in neighboring communities and spur them toward a more intimate and passionate walk with Christ.

My own spiritual journey has been tremendously impacted by the messages and testimonies of Leonard Ravenhill. Since the first time I heard of him (from a reference by David Wilkerson in a Last Days Ministries sermon) to reading his books and then meeting him as a young teen, I have been profoundly influenced by Leonard Ravenhill's passion for holy intimacy and the holiness of Christ.

Most of the sermons that I have been moved by have been two, three or even four parts. As a result, it has been difficult to include the entire message on a single audio CD.

This year, I would like to deliver a new audio CD to some of the pastors that I have given to in the past. Is there a single message (or list of messages) that you feel is powerful enough to bring out a hunger for the things of God? If you could provide a single Ravenhill message -- which would it be?

Thank you for your help!

:-)

By the way, if you would prefer to recommend extremely powerful messages by other men of God, I am all "ears" (well, "eyes"). The target audience is a group of pastors and Church leaders from an extremely diverse background of denominations and doctrinal persuasions.

 Re:

Thank you, hmmhmm...

I am looking for this type of sermon that would impact a person quite familiar with the Word of God -- but perhaps even those who do not fully understand the ways of the Lord. To me, there is a world of difference between messages heard every Sunday (or on television and in books) and those of men like Ravenhill, Reidhead, Wilkerson and Conlon, etc...

It is my hope that a CD might provoke these pastors into furhter personal inspection of their lives and their beliefs and the manner in which they regard the honor of God and their relationship with the Lord. You know, He is all that really matters. Hopefully, this hunger can be contagious!

Thanks...and please pray for this endeavor! Who knows, perhaps some of these pastors might venture into this forum for more heart piercing truth!

:-)

 Re:

I think this one is very provoking, and he touches many things, but i think Ravenhill does that, provokes and challenges to live a life totally sold out to the Lord.

Blessed to read this brother.

Oh America, America - Leonard Ravenhill

Both of these messages are very powerful and lend themselves towards pastors / teachers /elders.

Either way be blessed. BTW - How do you get the addresses to send them?

I actually copied the names and addresses out of the Yellow Pages (phone book).

Re: Recommend a Leonard Ravenhill Sermon...

About 3 weeks ago i was sitting at my computer, logged on to SI, clicked on a thread and instead this Ravenhill sermon opened up ...

http://64.34.176.235/sermons/SID4036.mp3

... it was not listed in the thread, and i hadn't saved it or downloaded it anywhere, it just popped up ... Most might think it but a happenstance or a computer glich, perhaps so, but i didn't ... i took it as our Lord moving in His mysterious way to my good, and so i've been listening to it since ... i think it's message very timely to any saint, especially those in pastoral leadership ...

i did a search on SI to see if i could find out which sermon it is, but couldn't ... Perhaps someone will recognize it and post it's title ...

Blessings in Christ Jesus ...
