I too had a surgery session for cancer. Everything happened so fast that there was almost no time to prepare mentally for the surgery. When my wife and I (newly married, fresh out of college, w/o jobs and very little money)walked into the hospital, I began to tremble. We stopped to use the restroom on the way to the surgery area. As I waited for her to come out of the restroom, I noticed a Bible on a hospital bench. Hoping for some encouragement, I flipped open the Psalms and found 107. It was encouraging, but the theme that stuck out was:"...praise the LORD [for] his goodness, and [for] his wonderful works to the children of men!"I believe the version I read said:"...praise the Lord for His goodness and for His wonderful workings among the sons of men."For whatever reason, the verse grabbed me. I clung to this verse and began to praise the Lord for His goodness and wonderful workings in my life. This was a tremendous help before, during and after the surgery.Brian
