This excerpt of Spurgeon is disheartening. It appears that he was either ignorant of what the Arminians really believe, or intentionally misrepresents it in order to make the Calvinist position stronger...almost a strawman type of approach. This and other quotes by Spurgeon on this topic make him look like a man full of pride who is totally ungracious to anyone who wasn't a "Five-pointer"...which quotes I do not believe truly represent him. To which I also must admit that I am probably far more prideful than Spurgeon ever imagined even in his unregenerate state.
