Re:

Compliments Said: If you hear the Revival Hymn one of the speakers speaking sounds exactly like this supposed recording of Evan Roberts.

I agree that this voice comes from the Revival Hymn. I believe the voice is that of Duncan Campbel, a Scottish Revivalist.
Being a Welshman I can definately say that "The Voice" is definitely not that of Evan Roberts.

 Re:

Greg, I was looking for a news article of some sort to confirm this... but I found it myself,

Pretty amazing.

 Re:

"The National Screen and Sound Archive of Wales in Aberystwyth, says it is the only recording of Evan Roberts.

A wax cylinder that contained the recording in 1905 was brought back to life by an expert in Los Angeles. "

This is a cut from the BBC page.

I heard the recording of the wax cylinder at the Revival Wales Conference in 2004. It was the centenary celebration. A museum of memorabilia was set up for the conference in the School Room.
The center piece was the recording of Mr Roberts voice.
The voice was that of Evan Roberts urging the congregation to sing. He was speaking in his native tongue which is welsh. The whole of the revival was conducted in the Welsh Tongue.

We hold our prayer meetings there at every Revival conference. I believe my good friend Dyfrig, an Elder at Moriah, still holds a Monday afternoon prayer meeting in the School room.

It looks like I will have to retreive the original recording for SI.

God bless

 Re:

"..all eternity will not suffice..."

I don't know who this is...the accent certainly sounds Scottish, and I am no authority on Evan Roberts. What I was able to decipher was enough to show that the preacher was preaching with eternity stamped on his eyeballs. The quote above should send a rapturous chill. The mention of eternity - either in heaven or hell - always leaves me with a sense of fear of how small I am and how big God is.

 Re: 1905 recording

Hi all,
Compliments was pretty close to what the recording says. However, this is what was said..

Quote:
"[To] rightly tell of His glorious deeds, all eternity will not suffice. What can we give God in return?"
